Have We Come a Long Way, Baby?

Please enjoy some photos of my daughter's vintage cookbook collection while I go on a "Restless Patriot Rant"!

The brouhaha at the end of last week over taxpayer-funded birth control and Rush Limbaugh got me to thinking.

First, the outcry is over-the-top hypocritical on the part of the mainstream media--as usual.  And, of course, it takes the minds of the lemmings off the real problems this country faces.

(Think about it:  rappers can call women unprintable names and they win awards from their peers.  There is a new show called Good Christian Bi+ches {GCB} and it is justified all over the place.  It will probably win an Emmy.)

I can think of some unprintable names that only the left is allowed to call conservatives such as Sarah Palin; her greatest offense apparently is being a conservative.

Here are just a few of recent "name calling" events by the popular leftists of conservatives they love to hate: and remember, no apologies from these that uttered the invective they call others out on.  (Rush did man up and apologize.)

(Sorry for the language, but I have to expose these hypocrites!)

Bill Maher:  "Sarah Palin is a stupid twat."
Ed Shultz:  "Laura Ingraham is a right-wing slut."
Keith Olbermann:  "Michele Malkin is a mashed up bag of meat with lipstick on it."
David Letterman:  "Sarah Palin dresses like a slutty flight attendant."
David Letterman:  "There was an awkward moment for Sarah Palin at the Yankee game.  During the seventh inning, her daughter was knocked up by Alex Rodriguez."

And that's just a few for starters.

No, Rush isn’t wrong.

Yes, he did go overboard making his point--and name-calling is unacceptable on either side. (But hey, when it happens on the right, it's handy to take people's minds off the real problems this administration has fostered and worsened during the past three or so years.)

Yes, the woman who testified before Congress was an activist, and a fraud, and failed to mention that birth control is cheap and also easily accessible and can even be free to anyone through those like Planned Parenthood--which the government already hands many millions of our taxpayer dollars to.

Yes, Obama is doing his level best to make this election all about “women’s rights”.  Another front in his class war, I suspect.  (Like he hasn’t got enough of those going already.)  He is adept at getting groups of people to go at each other:  in this case, it's the religious groups who want to keep their constitutional freedoms versus women.

But then after some quiet time thinking about this situation, I remembered what my grandmothers and my mother’s generation worried about.  Was it free birth-control?  Hardly.  That generation, compared to this entitlement generation are as different as darkness and light.  Literally.

I was thinking how far into becoming animals the "women's rights" crowd and their enablers in government have taken us. The recent "testimony" in front of Congress of a so-called educated woman begging for taxpayer-funded birth control for her "sexcapades" reduces women to nothing more than animals with no will, restraint, or common sense, for that matter.

Womanhood was once an art--something to aspire to. Now it is something to be scorned and snorted at by those "enlightened" ones. Women who are self-disciplined and care for their spouses, homes, and families are something of a laughingstock to the women’s liberation generation—up for scorn at every turn.

In case you didn’t know it, it’s fashionable to make light of women who actually love to take care of their homes and families and consider it a high honor, and love the art of being domestic.

I consider the training my daughter received at home under my teaching as important as her college education.  She will get a lifetime of enjoyment and satisfaction out of caring for and serving her family and making her home a pleasant refuge for the family.

As a mother, I considered it an honor and enjoyed teaching my daughter how to do all the things around the house that I knew how to do.  I was teaching her to serve.  As a result, she has also become a servant to her family and is doing a mighty fine job of it, too.  Now she is even teaching me some things.   And so it goes, she will teach her daughter to do the same.

Think about the difference in mindset between the women of our grandmother’s generation and the accepted and common attitudes of women now.  I am sure the equality that has come about because of our government’s interference has not advanced the cause of “liberation”.

This is what is so ironic.

I feel these so-called “advancements”  have chained women and they have become akin to a slave to their selfish wants—serving their lower selves; therefore resulting in unfulfilled and unhappy females looking for someone to make it all possible, and then to ultimately blame.

Instead of liberation and “equality”, it appears to have turned into a bunch of animalistic females who believe that they cannot control their sexual urges and that someone must be responsible for resulting consequences of that lack of discipline.

Our grandmothers worried about knowing how to do everything necessary to take care of their homes and families and planned for it, trained under their mothers for it, and looked forward to it. They made doilies and other linens as teens and filled a 'hope chest" with goods they had made and found for the home in order to "be prepared" for housekeeping and most of all, they saved themselves for marriage.

I’d say the opposite of progress is the result of government interfering in the important role women play in the family and therefore in the stability of our country.  The results are all around you.  Think about it.

I'd say we HAVEN'T come a long way, baby!  Women have traditionally been the ones to care for and nurture families.  I'd rather be regressive in the eyes of a modern "liberated" woman than "advance" myself to their low level.

(And they call themselves progressives?!  WHY?!)

Useless Idiots

Sunrise.

Sunset.

A sunset so brilliant it even shined through the curtains at my window.

Lately I have thought about the tumultuous sixties and the CRAZY seventies and the fear our parents must have felt while raising young families, as they heard about and saw reports of rioting -- both about race and the war in Vietnam.  I remember the news reports on the radio and the adults saying to each other, "What is this world coming to?!".   It was a dangerous time.  It had consequences.
I've been saying "What is this world coming to?"  to myself a lot lately, too.  I fear for us, our children, and our grandchildren.
I am speaking about the "occupy" movement and its stupid destructive nature, the way these morons wear masks, and seem proud of the fact that they can destroy property, disrespect the police and any other authorities, destroy private property, and intimidate average people; costing cities millions and private companies--and income earners much in the way of lost revenue.
I have watched many reports and  read many accounts of violence and mayhem caused by these groups like the communists, socialists, Nazi's, SEIU, all the usual suspects that are enemies of America and of freedom, who claim to want a worldwide "robin hood" government.
There are already plenty of that type of government in this world to choose from, and I beg them to go...go there and see what living in a third-world country is like!
Why?  Because in third-world countries, only those at the top have anything.  It is stolen from the people to "give to those who have not" and then once stolen, kept for those in power, and those in power keep their power.
(For very recent proof of this, Libya was full of very poor people and Ghaddafi is estimated to have been worth between $67-$300 BILLION when he died.  All of it stolen from the people and the country they lived in--stashed in markets around the world.)
The bottom line is this:  occupation has no place in a land of freedom and liberty.  It is a foreign concept to us.  Make no mistake, these "occupy" people mean you and I no good.    They have nothing better or productive to do, so disturbing the peace, living in filth, and causing mayhem and chaos is fine by them.  And to know that this president, this enemy of the people supports it is chilling.  Period.
Freedom and capitalism go hand in hand.  Destroy capitalism and freedom is tossed up to only those who wield power over us.
When freedom is only held by those in power, it is used in wicked ways and for evil ends.  The irony with this bunch is that they are asking for handouts--their cause is sponsored by various trouble-making groups -- but not self-supporting.  They ask and are getting it from .... TA DA!  ...Corporations!  The irony is searing to anyone with half a brain.
They have dangerous, filthy, crime ridden encampments that attract those that are inclined to be totally lawless with the result of varied unreported crimes, simply because they hate the police so much that they decided they'd become their own law.  HUH?!
Last week, it was reported that the New York City kitchen workers in the camp there were sick and tired of working 18-hour days to cook for the "occupiers" -- who did nothing but protest while they worked to feed them.
Well, the irony was not lost on me, and I hope a few of the kitchen workers had a light bulb go off in their heads.
Do they not see this is exactly what productive Americans feel about THEM?
These protests are more proof that young people in this country have NO IDEA about the founding principles, founding documents, no idea what our country is all about.  The president's support of it shows that he is our enemy.  I look for it to last as long as his campaign does.
Meanwhile, back in D.C. we have politicians wasting important time and energy on such things as  Federal diaper giveaways.  Really?  Like we don't owe enough money to China?
What is this world coming to?

An American Boy

What we have a right to expect of the American boy is that he shall turn out to be a good American man.  The boy can best become a good man by being a good boy--not a goody-goody boy, but just a plain good boy...

"Good" in the largest sense, should include whatever is fine, straightforward, clean, and manly.
--Theodore Roosevelt

At times, it's hard these days to see a bright future for America.  The haters of this country and our way of life have infiltrated our schools and universities.

So much so that one might send off a bright, conservative, happy young person to college and get out of it extremely high anxiety about the sort of thinking their son or daughter learned in this "institution, as well as recitation of a cynical, jaded view of this special place--America--that we think is so great....

And then to top it off, that young person starts life saddled with a student loan repayment mountain to climb -- as well as high unemployment numbers and few prospects for his immediate future.

Was it all worth it?

Will they someday see why we love the America we were taught about in school?

Or will their new world view catch them in the trap of apathy, inaction, entitlement attitudes and laziness, so that they have nothing to hand off to their children?

How can we send men from our families and homes and out into the greater world still holding the American Values dear?

By not giving up on the good.
By doing right when it seems futile.

I worry about our boys.
They are not being allowed to be boys as they should sometimes.

They are being put on medications for ADD in elementary school...sometimes during kindergarten or first grade?  They are taught they are somehow wrong for wanting to wiggle, run and explore.

This safety-crazed culture wants to strap them down from the minute they are born into car seats, high chairs, and strollers and every other sort of device, and our pediatricians scare young mothers to death about every single possible thing that can go wrong.

Schools are chosen while the kids are still in diapers and mothers are competing with each other in the "I care more" department --rather than just enjoying the adventure that is childhood: that will leave all too soon.

Boys are important.

Men are the defenders of this nation.
I know there are women who enlist and are soldiers, but by and large, men are the defenders of our freedom.

Let's not discourage them from serving and loving their country.

Yes, there is plenty not to like about our sons choosing the armed forces:  the main reason?  Recruiters lying or deceiving young men, at times, just to make their quotas.

Worst of all?  Politicians using our soldiers to their political ends.
It's enough to make any mom or dad of a recruit jaded.

But once those boys begin their service, they truly aren't pledging their service and their lives to the President or his cronies in Congress, they are there, serving us:  HOME and all that home implies, and for the brother in arms that is next to them, behind them and in front of them.

When and if that stops being true, we really are in trouble.

All we can do is pray for that young soldier and his brave friends...and that the leaders of our nation will once again hold the values that formed our nation dear to their hearts, that they will live them, and will make their decisions about our defense with the wisdom of those values in mind.

And that they'll ask for wisdom from God -- knowing that just in the asking, no problem is bigger than He is.

That is our job in defending this nation and holding up the boys who choose to serve--we have to serve those boys here at home, while they are off and away.

Pray for our soldiers this weekend (and always).

And, fly a flag.

This is my son-in-law.
He is a veteran of the war in Iraq, he was there when the battalions rolled all the way to Baghdad in '03.
He served, came home, got on with life and went to work--and works hard every day.

He's married to my daughter now, and they have a son.

On Memorial Day, the town where they live was dedicating a new war memorial.  Thad chose not to go that morning.  He waited and went later in the afternoon, when everyone was gone--just him and his little family.

My daughter snapped this picture when he was standing respectfully with his son, quietly observing the new memorial.

This photo speaks volumes to the kind of man he is, and it brings tears to my eyes.

He wants no recognition for what he did: actually he avoids it.

I wanted to share it because this is one of the good American boys I am talking about.

He went through war, but doesn't want to talk about it.
You will never hear him tell stories about it, nor brag.
If you thank him for his service to our country, he will tell you he was just doing his job.

He is a man.

An American man.

He has reasons--if he chose to be cynical, but he will never miss an election.

He knows what a vote costs.

And, now, he's raising another precious, good American boy.

God Bless America, and God Bless our BOYS!

Perverted Men in High Places

Lawlessness in high places is nothing new.

And, I know Rep. Wiener and his situation is sad, ridiculous, laughable, even for the jokes that write themselves for someone who is such a parody of himself.  I have made many jokes about this myself, I will admit--one just can't help it.

(I do think the man should resign, and that he'd do well in the male enhancement drug commercials, I'm sure they'll be glad to snap him up.  He's perfect.)

But then I look at the serious side of it...

What really matters is this:  he is a scum sucking, yellow-bellied sapsucker and a sad excuse for a man and an even worse husband, and son.

I cannot imagine the shame his family feels.  He was embarrassing enough before this self-inflicted scandal broke, I'm surprised it stayed down this long, as many women as he was carrying on with.

I want to know, how did someone this inept, and clearly not serious at all about his job--a very serious job, have time for all this playing around?

After all he's in his Congressional offices, logged in to facebook, playing around with his cell phone taking all sorts of pictures of himself--all the time.  He was carrying on this way with more than one woman--for years!

Is this so-called man worth the sacrifice of our soldiers to make it possible and make him worthy of the office he holds?  Clearly not.

Is this pervert looking out for the best interest of Americans, yes, even the legion of liberals who elected him in New York?  Clearly not.

I ask you, is THAT the best we've got --is this the quality and caliber of man that we want making decisions that will affect us and our children and grandchildren for DECADES?

This clown voted for OBAMACARE--put this burden onto me and my family.  I'm supposed to think that he gave it any sort of serious consideration?!

Is this mental 12-year-old someone I want to be privy to National Security Issues that concern millions of Americans?  CLEARLY NOT.

I want to tell you that if you have not ever heard of this clown before the scandal broke, he is an idiot--plain and simple, as well as a loud-mouthed attention hog, as liberal and as crazy as they come; as far to the left as a person can get.

THIS IS NOT anyone worthy of the soldier who defends him, he doesn't deserve to eat the dirt off their boots.

I hate to have my sons see the likes of this man in high office.  Think about the "Internet predator" part of this whole mess.  Some of these women were college age!  The depths of his hypocrisy?  HE sponsored a bill to "protect children from Internet predators":  men like him.

How about this, that this lewd, irreverent pig--according to the Democrat party, was "next in line" for the mayor's job of New York City?!

Surely, this country is in more trouble than it could possibly know if that is the caliber of men we send to Washington.

Liberals pay lip service to "women's rights" --but do they actually BELIEVE in what they say, do they ever display action to back up their words?  He's a sexual predator and--so far--they are not DEMANDING that he step down.

They'll make a pretense at an investigation, slap him on the wrist like they did with Charlie Rangel and so many others...and he'll still be sitting in his Congressional office for the rest of his term, if they have their way.  Look how long Ted Kennedy got to stay!

Where is the women's advocacy organization N.O.W.?  Well, I'm sure they'll be characteristically silent, because he's one of their own, and is an advocate for all of N.O.W.'s pet projects one of which is Planned Parenthood.

This man not only lied about what happened, he lied about the fact that someone else did it to him.  Not only that, but the press accused those that broke the story of making it up!

As usual the mainstream press converges around their  darlings, and they lapped up Rep. Wiener's blabbing for their cameras and all of his feigned outrage.

Andrew Breitbart, with biggovernment.com did a great job dribbling this story out, and then watching Rep. Wiener twist in the wind and get himself in deeper and deeper and deeper.

At the press conference where Rep. Wiener was to appear, Breitbart was in the audience and was getting so many questions fired at him from the mainstream press--like HE was the criminal!--from the goons with cameras, all hot to stand their ground for Wiener, that Breitbart strode to the podium and did his own press conference before Wiener appeared!

(It's a long listen, but so worth it to listen to him point out all the ways the mainstream media mishandled this whole story.  Go here to see Breitbart at the press conference.)

Oh, and will Breitbart get any credit for being kind enough NOT to release the most embarrassing photos of Wiener to spare his family the embarrassment?  I think not.

I'm glad there are journalists still out there willing to do the hard work to expose frauds like this.

My sympathies go to his wife and family, I cannot imagine the embarrassment.

Yet, we have members of the so-called press, like Chris Matthews, intimating that Wiener's wife might be "partly responsible"!?!

But even more, I pity our country, and our government, that men like this can be so long in office and so utterly worthless.

Whatever happened to character, honor and courage?
Where are the real patriots?

One more thing:  the scrutiny the mainstream press is willing to give to someone like Sarah Palin--who holds no office, and has absolutely NO power or authority over the American people--is huge in comparison to the kind of scrutiny they take with someone like Rep. Wiener.

For an example:  watch THIS ridiculous excuse made by Walters of the blabber show, The View.  She makes the case for keeping Wiener in Congress!  Unreal!

Their agenda comes first, you and I clearly come second.

Meanwhile, ROME BURNS.  The really important stuff isn't getting a second glance, we have to hear hours of coverage for a pervert and a predator.

(I ask, where is John Wayne when you need him to give someone a whuppin'?!)

Ugly Mothers

A self-respecting mother will make her child proud.

At the risk of sounding OLD (I'm only 49!) I want to rant about something that's been bugging me, today it's not about politics or popular culture icons, but it's about us.

It's. About. Moms.

I have been noticing something the last few years, and it makes me really sad, disappointed.  I am not the type to think that whenever one steps outside the house, they should be fashionable and chic, fully made up and dressed formally-- but it makes me really wonder where our society is going when I see women (of all ages!) even with child(ren) in tow wearing the following:

  • Big, ugly tattoos everywhere (is that attractive?!)
  • Multiple piercings on the face and/or tongue
  • pink, purple, bright red, yellow or blue or ? hair
  • jeans that are way too small, too low
  • pajama pants or pajamas as an outfit
  • tops that leave NOTHING to the imagination (WHY do you think I want to see your boobs or your big fat rolls?!)
  • Sweat pants worn on a daily basis at schools!

I have noticed this over time and wonder, where are we headed?  Usually, the children in tow of such women like this are less than pleasant to be around, too.

I know we are less formal than our parents were, Donna Reed we are not.  But what's wrong with being clean, neat, presentable, wearing clothing that fits your body, and not revealing all the ugly parts of one's fat to the world?

I am not beautiful, nor am I a fashion plate, I am not even halfway to chic, but I am clean and I present myself with some sense of pride to the world when I go to the mall, the grocery store and to run errands or to church--and at work when I had a job outside the home.  Unless it were a dire emergency, I would have at least mascara, some eyeliner and some lipstick on my face before I stepped into the outside world.

Never before has our population been given so MANY choices in clothing, hairstyles, makeup, and exercise and entertainment.  It's not expensive to look decent--or clean.  Never before have we accepted so much that looks slovenly and sloppy.

I love it when I see a nicely dressed, clean family, it leaves me with hope that we all don't go down the road of ANYTHING goes, and that we can teach our children that there are certain things or looks that you DON'T wear outside the home.

(I am in no way criticizing the working man with dirt on his shoes, clothing or hands...working men are to be respected and admired and I do not mind seeing them ANYWHERE.)

Not long ago, I was watching the news and the subject was organic food, clothing, etc...and they interviewed a "slob" --she was just a mess--of a mother like I have been seeing out and about and she was talking about our food and what's in it, with BRIGHT PINK HAIR!  How messed up is that?!  (I am not sure, but I don't think PINK hair is very organic, do you?)

It is up to us, as mothers, to teach and model from childhood, the attitude that we need to respect ourselves AND OTHERS enough to be as clean and decent as we can be, when we go out into the world.  Is that too much to ask?

We have to be the guides...to teach what respecting ourselves means and what taking pride in our appearance means.  It's not what the movie stars show us, NO, so few of us can--or want to--achieve that.

It's everyday values that comes with spending time and putting the energy into caring.

I want the world to be a good place for this little guy...

(There, I feel better now, this post has been gurgling 'round in my brain for quite some time now...Hope I didn't sound too codger-ish!!

I guess I really shouldn't just pick on women, the other day at the mall, I had to really talk myself out of going up to a young man to tell him his WHOLE BOTTOM was hanging out of his pants and I could see ALL of his boxers.  HOW does one walk around like that?!

This winter, at a basketball game, during halftime, there were kids from another school on the court shooting baskets, three of them young men with their hineys exposed in the same way.  My husband, bless his heart, is old-fashioned enough for this to make him really mad.  He cupped his hands, and yelled from the bleachers:  "Pull up your pants or get OFF THE COURT!!!"  They looked up at him, and surprised that someone would say anything, reached back and pulled up their pants.  I then yelled "THANK YOU!".

My son in law, who is former military,  if he is stopped at a light in his big huge work truck, and sees young men with their "pants on the ground" will yell out the window at these punks to pull up their STUPID PANTS....I give him credit for that.  He says that all young men should serve two years in the military once they leave school and there would be NONE of this once a kid has been in the military.)

Who Can Shout Louder?

A grieving family does their best to make a difference.

I heard recently that the insane/drug addict/sexual pervert/wife beater/Charlie Sheen is taking his "show on the road" and that every single venue he's taking his "show" is selling out.  It makes me absolutely SICK.

This man is a pervert, a reprobate, used to abusing women and worse, getting away with it!  He should be in jail, but his "status" makes sure that he's not.

Plus, he's a terrible father, and worst of all uses and abuses drugs and everyone else in his path, like his family who cares about him and wants to intervene to pull him out of his self-abusing cycle and get him clean.

(I think they approach it wrong, calling drug abuse a disease like cancer.  I think abuse of alcohol, food, or drugs is all about choice, not a disease, but I can still understand their love for him and their wanting him healthy again.)

It makes me SICK to think that Americans are THIS STUPID to spend their (is it hard-earned anymore?!?) money to throw it at a sick individual like Charlie Sheen.  How could they?  This man needs serious help, and furthermore, he should be in prison, because he confessed, publicly, to abuse of illegal substances, he has incriminated himself!

He was elevated to this larger than life status by an evil network, CBS, and paid more than any man should be paid to do ANYTHING  and made him think he is invincible and above the law, above natural law, even.

Then when he goes nuts, where normally someone would be committed, the "media" sell him to the public by doing "in-depth"
interviews, giving him forty minutes of uninterrupted airtime in a two hour show that is described as "morning news"....which is actually "morning entertainment"--owned by an even larger entertainment business--Disney.

The average American knows more about this pathetic human being than they do about what's going on in their government and how they are being led by their president and his administration straight down the pipes to third-world status. They all have the latest on Charlie, and have even signed up by the millions to get his "tweets"!

I am not surprised our country is in the pits its in.  If this is a sign of our intelligence, I'd have to say there is not much hope.

Instead, he is invited on all the late night blabber shows and is applauded like a hero--when he kisses another man on the mouth (!  I'd say Jimmy Kimmel better go get a blood test!) and the truth is that he should be avoided like the plague because he is so evil.

But evil is elevated and promoted by the same "media" that tries to "warn parents of the dangers" of drugs, sex, and everything this Charlie Sheen stands for!  What a joke!  They talk out of both sides of their mouths!  The truth means absolutely nothing to them!

Those idiots wouldn't know a hero if they were to slam into one.

I am so sick of evil being elevated (called good) and good being called evil.  The media is the worst at this, and is the biggest reason for the moral downfall of our society.

There are two families in particular here in Michigan who are experiencing huge losses that are so very tragic, two beautiful young women pulled in by the lure of heroin in their high school years, dying from overdoses because they bought a particular "high quality" heroin from their scumbag drug dealers.

Now the parents and the sheriff's office of this county where these girls lived is trying to get the word out and trying to warn kids of the dangers.

They have come together to go into high schools, and worked to bring a panel of the parents of these girls and law enforcement, and even brought in a drug dealer, replaying the horrible 911 call, brought in a casket and other visual props to try to drive the message home.

I imagine it is beyond heartbreaking for these parents to tell and retell their story, hear those tapes played over and over again, but yet they are trying to do what they can to wake the classmates of their dead kids up.

These are not urban kids who are used to this sort of thing happening on a regular basis, this is upper class lakeside suburbia where the money flows and the houses are quarter of a million dollars each.

BUT...can they yell louder than the media who elevates Charlie Sheen to "top news status" every single day for months?!?

Charlie Sheen can be a mess.  He has the freedom to be one, certainly, as many in our country do.  He can be a pervert, horrible father, abuser of women and he still gets away with it all.  That on its own is bad enough.

But, on top of it,  treated as if he is something to be glorified, and the MEDIA just cannot get enough of it?

The kids in this high school assembly (where those that have suffered and have lost the most precious thing in their life, their child!) are being hit with a "scared straight" message.

But, CAN IT even penetrate their little brains when they see the opposite in every other instance that is put in their face?

(Think of the manufactured celebrities like Brittany Speers who are total scum and are elevated and promoted by the media, to see who they can claim to have "brought back" and "rescued" when in fact it's pure profit that is their motive as is the case with Disney and Brittney Spears!)

Charlie Sheen gets richer and richer and more and more exposed to the world BECAUSE OF HIS DRUG ABUSE?!?!?

I am so, so, so sick of this I could scream!

CHARLIE t-shirts!
CHARLIE tweets!
CHARLIE broadcasts on the internet!
CHARLIE photographs for sale!
CHARLIE on tour!
CHARLIE on late night talk shows!
CHARLIE pursued by CBS again!
CHARLIE on the cover of every possible magazine in the grocery store!

There are literally millions of stories about this creep out there.

HOW is a parent supposed to fight THAT?!!

Will it make a difference?

Where is the news coverage of the heartbreak to these parents of putting their 16 and 17-year-old girls in the cold, hard ground, watching the dirt thrown on top...then walking away with NOTHING but pain that will never, ever end!?

This makes me so angry, I can't even begin to tell you.

Meanwhile, Charlie, and CBS, as well all the other big media outlets are laughing all the way to the bank...it's criminal!

A Flag At Rest

I love my country, and my flag.  Even as a little kid, I got this feeling of pride that was so big inside of me when I heard those drumbeats, saw our flag go past in a parade, waving proudly in the breezes of a summer's day, carried straight by a tall soldier in full-dress uniform.

I would watch, as a kid will do, how the men jumped to their feet, removed their hats, and placed their hands over their hearts.  I saw the fierce patriotism in the faces of those veterans...most men my dad's age and older were all veterans.

Not one of us kids was allowed to sit and watch, we had to do the same--and snap to it.  We were taught to honor those colors.

***

We sang "America" in church this Sunday morning, and my patriot's heart can barely make it through that song without tears--more so now than ever.

As a nation, our leaders have turned us away from God and his principles:  clearly laid out for us in the Bible.  So many ways have they turned our nation upsidedown, it's hard to keep track, but the biggest one in addition to abortion -- is the assault on marriage.

The Bible was the road map our forefathers followed to a New World.  It is why we --as women-- don't carry water on our heads from a well in town back to our huts like most of the women in this world do:  freedom is what has made so many advances in civilization possible.

It is why we, as women,  aren't treated like an unimportant piece of property like most are in the Muslim world.

AMERICA
Henry Carey

My country 'tis of thee, Sweet land of liberty, Of thee I sing;
Land where my fathers died, Land of the pilgrim's pride,
From ev'ry mountainside, Let freedom ring!

My native country, thee, Land of the noble free, Thy name I love:
I love thy rocks and rills, Thy woods and templed hills;
My heart with rapture thrills Like that above!

Let music swell the breeze, And ring from all the trees
Sweet freedom's song:
Let mortal tongues awake; Let all that breathe partake;
Let rocks their silence break, The sound prolong.

(and this is the verse I cannot make it through without choking up.)
Our father's GOD to Thee, Author of liberty, To Thee we sing!
Long may our land be bright, With freedom's holy light;
Protect us by Thy might, Great God our King!

Lately, I've had this constant lump in my throat and this sick feeling in my heart, when I think about my country and where it's going, how fast she's been pushed by our leaders...heading straight down that hill into secularism and pluralism.  (Please do not let anyone confuse you, "allah" and the God of the Bible are not the same.)

Make no mistake--there will be something to take the up the vacuum--that place God once had in our hearts and in our country.

Powering through will be those who desire to make Sharia law the next "civil right".

Are you ready?

In the "DID YOU KNOW?" Department...

Obama quietly has, since being sworn in, been bringing Muslim immigrants in great numbers into the US,under the guise of "diversity visas" placing them in strategic locations around the country so that if Congress eventually passes amnesty for illegals, he will have a great new voting bloc, in 2010 nearly 70,000 Muslims have come from Islamic nations--some of them terror-sponsoring.

Since the troubles in the Mideast, it has given him more of a "reason" to authorize at least 80,000 more this time due to the nature of the uprising, they can be brought in as political refugees.

So you figure we should have at least 140,000 new Muslims brought in since Obama became president, how many will more will there be before he leaves office?  You have a whole huge section of our world in a political uprising!  There will be thousands and thousands "elgible" to come.

All of this is taking place when we are at our worst in unemployment and debt.  And you know these people will be handed everything and will not limit their family sizes in deference to those that are feeding them.

AND...there will be costs, to us, for "inviting" all of them here.

From what I can find out, there is a check cut for a single refugee and that amount is at about $1890 per month and then an additional $580 in other "assistance" is available per month.

That's probably more than your little grandpa collects from his whole life of contributing to social security after working hard for so long.  If that's not enough to make you crazy, I don't know what is!

Signed,
A Restless Patriot

PS:  Doesn't John Wayne's voice talking about our beautiful country just make you want to cry?

Also, in the comments section I've been asked how I came to know this.  I first heard it one morning last week as I was listening to WJR, Michigan's largest (and very credible) radio station on their morning show with Paul W. Smith.  There was an interview with an expert from an immigration watchdog group who caught this and is trying to get the word out.  There are links in the above story to more information you can click on and keep on going.  You can find out easily enough but it should surprise NO ONE that the mainstream media is lax in reporting on stories such as this.  They were so helpful in getting Obama elected and ignoring his background that they have a reason for letting this fall to the wayside.
