There's an old saying that I heard a lot as a kid:

"I wasn't born yesterday!"

How appropriate for what the mainstream media has tried with the public over the last week or so. They still think most of us are dumb enough to actually believe the stuff they put out there and accuse the "collective" of doing. (Socialism doesn't like individualism, so if someone commits a heinous crime, we have to blame the "collective" OPPOSITION!)

People that have the idea that government has been overreaching and overspending are NOW guilty, not only of speaking up and (using their freedoms guaranteed to them in the Constitution) showing their displeasure, then voting many SCOUNDRELS out of office for doing the exact opposite of what we sent them to Washington to do, are NOW GUILTY AS MASS MURDERERS. That means you, and me, too.

Of course, without actually being the "head" of the Tea Party movement, Sarah Palin is targeted because she has spoken up against the administration and the policies it has burdened the people with --and all AGAINST their own will, she is the largest target in their sights and they immediately branded her with the responsibility of forcing this nut bag to go ACT UPON HER ORDERS.

Now, anyone that heard that and that is at least semi-conscious of what is going on in our country knew where all this was heading. Once we catch on to the tactics used by this bunch, we knew it would be a long, sickening week. And we were right. It was all very predictable.

Not only was the Obama reelection campaign kicked off at the so-called "memorial service", we were horrified as more and more and more "villains" were proclaimed with each new day by the complicit state-run media and the President who--during his campaign, and in spite of his record--claimed to want to be a uniter let the accusations roll without saying a word about it. Which, we all know, meant that he liked what was going on and he was obviously happy with who the media was accusing, because they are all "enemies" as he has stated in the past.

The people in Congress, of course, overreacted, on both sides of the aisle, before the bodies were even embalmed were loudly proposing once again (as predictable as you can get!) the "fairness" doctrine, banning guns, and more "regulation" by the FCC and even going so far as to say they must have special protection from the public (like any of them are any more special than the rest of us!).

It wasn't only a Congresswoman that was shot, but you might not have realized that if you were listening to members of Congress. The work of Congress was suspended for (another!) week and we were subjected to endless hours of talking heads analyzing everything from the makeup of the audience at the Safeway to the women's underwear chosen by the shooter for his last "video" for YouTube. Also available were breathless hourly updates from the hospital where the Congresswoman was taken.

THEN...the granddaddy of them all--the so-called "memorial service" which was really an occasion for the liberal lefties to assault us once again with their idea of religion: government. The same president who is unwilling to say the words "endowed by our creator" was quoting scripture, (but without the text) and we were appalled as we watched Janet Napalitano deliver a sermon, of sorts, with one of the most inappropriate scriptures I have ever heard if comfort was the intended reason for quoting it.

What you saw was the government as Obama wishes you to accept it: all on his terms, and with as much religion as he deems necessary. Thrown in for some giddy excitement were clueless college students there to show their love for Big Government, not God, and to show dear leader adoration and cheer as he droned on, with the applause prompts over their head in case their cell phones were distracting them.

If anyone was gullible enough to go there for actual comfort or to make sense of the tragedy, I am sure they were sorely disappointed. But leave it to this undignified bunch in the White House to make a pep rally--complete with campaign slogan t-shirts thrown in for each participant-- out of a senseless inexcusable tragedy. (Let no crisis, or tragedy go to waste.)

The sheriff there was a willing mouthpiece for the media and the administration, and instead of doing his job as sworn to, he had all kinds of time to talk to the media on every talk show imaginable, accusing Americans who speak up in opposition to Obama as the problem, excusing the shooter! Meanwhile, as the media holds up their microphones or him to speak into, they ignore the fact that the sheriff had plenty of contact with this shooter and his family, and was simply covering his own tracks, not wanting the focus to be on how this animal ended up with a gun!

Sarah Palin holds her fire for at least four days, and then nothing but criticism comes when she finally has her say. Every media outlet had something to say about the timing, her demeanor, everything was wrong, and then they had the gall to say that she "injected herself" into the controversy, when the very first day, THEY pointed the finger at her and included her in as the CAUSE of this tragedy!

Like I said, we can read them as if they were a children's book: the plot isn't too complicated and we know what the last page will say before we've turned to it.

I knew before this man was elected that he was an enemy of our country. But now he has proven that to be true thousands of times over.

I'm all done with that conclusion, so on to the job of those we elected to serve in Congress.

Now is the time for these people to realize that they have an enemy of the United States sitting in the White House, doing everything he can to ruin our beautiful country and to stamp out our freedom.

I am tired of the new majority leaders feigning "friendliness" and dutifully marching up the steps to the White House for a "meeting" with Obama. You could not pull me kicking and screaming into that meeting room, because I would realize what is true and act accordingly: This man is an enemy of the United States and the people of the United States. PERIOD.

There would be no acting as if there was a chance to work "in a bipartisan manner".

NO WAY.

WE WON.

HE LOST.

So treat him like the loser he is.

The American people who give a damn are angry for a REASON.

It's time for you in Congress who are on the side of the Constitution to be ANGRY too, and to govern like it.

This new Congress doesn't have to make nice, and we certainly didn't change the direction of the country to "bipartisan cooperation". We changed it to STOP what's being done to us.

But won't you look at how these congressional leaders want to make nice with this treasonous imposter!

I say that now is when you FIGHT and you DON'T BACK DOWN.

Treat this man as if he's an enemy, because behind your back he's laughing at how gullible you are, right along with the rest of his minions.

First, they should investigate fully the matter of his citizenship. Then, once that's done, he can be properly thrown out and prosecuted for his crimes, and all legislation he's signed will be null and void. This, I think is the only way for us to survive, because two more years of his destruction and we won't be worth a dime. Literally.

ONE MORE WEEK!

I know you probably already know, but we are ONE WEEK from the world's largest TEA PARTY. We will have our say. They will hear us.

I am excited, to say the least. And, I hope that we know something next Tuesday night before we go to bed.

I hope the MILITARY VOTES ARE COUNTED. (That is one of the things that makes me the most angry, the military men and women being DENIED their right to vote by the corrupt voter's commissions around the country!)

I am not overconfident, you just never know what new tricks the leftist, communist, socialist opposition can come up with by way of cheating, what with all the nuts in ACORN, SEIU, and other communist organizations that wield their clout each time an election rolls around.

I DO BELIEVE that there are more of us than there are of THEM.

I believe they can be DEFEATED.

More than that, I believe they MUST BE DEFEATED.

But, they cannot be defeated if we stay home and use an excuse not to vote. (We should be ashamed forever if we miss this one!)

If they are not defeated at the ballot box, I believe that our country is done, and we will never again know the freedoms that our forefathers so generously handed to us. We are already to the point where we might never get it back... and if we do it will require years of HARD WORK and it will not be easy as in we will NEVER be able to be so apathetic ever again, but at least there is hope this time that we can turn back some of the policies foisted on us by the goons in the administration.

I am angry and I am mad, and all those emotions should NOT LEAVE ME after next Tuesday, even if we change both houses of CONgress.

We have to stay on them.

We have to keep working, be alert, aware, and most of all, ANGRY.

That anger should work to be the ballast that will fuel a change to last for decades.

Remember that your right to vote was won the hard way: blood and guts are the only reason you are able to pull that lever or fill in that circle.

Generation after generation of brave Americans bought you that right, and many of THEM will not even have that privilege, so GO FIGHT FOR THEM!

We are here, the soldiers are there. They cannot defend our freedom at home, that is up to US!!!!!

There is no way to fully describe how historic and how important this election is to YOU, your KIDS, and your GRAND KIDS for generations to come.

We have someone in the White House who is hell-bent on destroying what generations of FREEDOM'S DEFENDERS have worked, bled and died to preserve.

The ballot box is our battleground, it is our way of making things right again, by design. I don't think it will ever be the same again if we aren't victorious this time.

The Founding Fathers KNEW that power corrupts, and they designed it so that WE COULD OVERTHROW those who refused to listen to the PEOPLE at the ballot box, instead of using our MUSKETS.

Thank God for that, and DO NOT NEGLECT your duty to your country, your family and your fellow-man, but most of all those SOLDIERS over there fighting for US.

I have one week, and I cannot guarantee that you won't hear about this from me again in that week.

It is of utmost importance, unless we want our children and theirs to be slaves to the cold-hearted communists in China.

I just pray to GOD it's not too late.

Why The Left Hates Sarah....and Glenn....and YOU!

I know that most of us respect a person who knows that there is a Higher Authority, and we all remember the pictures of George Washington, kneeling in the snow, by his horse, praying. It's a great leader of men, submitting himself, humbling himself, and we have historically liked that in our leaders.

Finally, he's the SMARTEST MAN IN THE ROOM!!

And, can you tell, he's enjoying his time, dishing with the divas? I tried not to throw up when I heard he was going on this show, the ONLY show his wife watches, which also would explain her vast intelligence.

Watching a bunch of bagsful of hot air gossip about meaningless drivel day after day would explain why Michelle is just now able to be proud of her country...

We can now rest easy, knowing that our country sits safely in the hands of a sitting President would make such an intelligent decision: to turn down speaking to the Boy Scouts on a milestone anniversary, to go sit on a blabber show. We're supposed to take him, his ideas, and his administration seriously?

The cheapening of the Presidency continues.

The serious issues that have slammed our country in the past months make an appearance like this for a President seem a trivial way to spend his time (for a thinking, serious American). I might be able to cut the guy some slack if he were sitting on top of the world with the economy, unemployment, our immigration crisis, two wars, and oil slicks --the stuff that is so depressing that we must listen to in the news every single day.

Say what you will (and I've said plenty) about George W. Bush. He made mistakes, BIG ones, and he was not a true conservative, but he was smart enough to make some major decisions very well, and he DID conduct himself with dignity and honor while he held office.

He did not get down in the dirt and take cheap shots at the American people and those who interacted with him in this country. He gave interviews to all news networks. He didn't treat the Dictator of Venezuela better than he treated Americans who don't happen to share his political point of view. He was above retaliation and pettiness and small minded gossip.

On top of that he was smart enough to find a good wife. She was a wonderful first lady and an example to mothers everywhere, Laura was a true lady and she brought dignity to him and to the White House.

BUT THIS PRESIDENT....his wife neither brings honor to him or to his office. She is not an intelligent person at all and has proven it once again by saying she doesn't miss the daily smut that's dished out by the hot-air-hags on "The View".

Cheaper and cheaper and cheaper this office becomes to this America-hater. He views the Oval Office as HIS; when in fact it is NOT. The office he holds is a hallowed one, on loan. It is one that wraps the officeholder in history, the impends upon the one sitting at the desk with a vast responsibility: leading the American people. That chair he sits in is an honor, one placed in his hands with great care.

What I'm saying is the Office of the President is one of the most humbling of all jobs if one understands the responsibility of it.

Not this celebrity-in-chief...

One should treat that office with care, not cheapen it with a bunch of yakkers full of hot air. I for one, am tired of his teenage angst and his antics, all to prove he's worthy, when clearly he's not.

He went on "The View" for Michelle....but what has he done for the American people lately? Nothing but destruction, I'm afraid!

Do you think with a man clearly this inept we can limp through as a country, still intact in 2012?

Get mad and GET OUT AND VOTE in the primaries, people! Send yet another message to the slacker in chief! I doubt if he will listen, but we must say what we think anyway! He could be listening to the American people instead of the blabberers on THE VIEW!

Yes, Washington D.C. is hell-bent on making this nation a bunch of takers and no longer encouraging independence and freedom that results from it.

It's sad beyond belief.

I've been mourning.

I have to tell you I'm not real convinced we can make it through the next two years. I know that the elections this fall are going to give another large, blinking neon sign to the administration that we ARE NOT BEHIND HIM and his policies. But it will not matter.

He is hell-bent on destroying--and then rebuilding in his own image--this country that he hates so much. It's never been so obvious that OUR JOB IS HUGE.

If we make it, limping, into the fall of 2012, the work that will need to be done to repair the destruction we have watched will be overwhelming.

Will those who are running for office have the balls of steel they will need to defeat the cycle of dependence that Washington has imposed on us all?

I hope so.

I think often of Gov. Chris Christie, and I know there are still REAL, RED-BLOODED AMERICAN LEADERS out there. Let's just pray our hearts out that they'll step up! AND WHEN THEY DO, WE WILL HAVE TO BE WILLING TO DO THE TOUGH WORK and get behind him and push with all of our might.

Up until the final health-care vote, I had my representatives in Washington on speed dial and called Washington and emailed and wrote letters, did everything I could think of, joined up with the Tea Party protests...not one bit of our input mattered, we were sold down the drain and since that time Washington hasn't heard a word from me.

I can't even keep up with all the legislation and I literally get sick when I hear all the news coming out of Washington, and yes even around the world right now.

All I know is that I know Who is Really In Charge, and I'm glad that I do.

Otherwise, I'd have absolutely NO HOPE.

We must PRAY.
We also must WORK.

So...get active in your local elections this fall, it's just the beginning of taking Washington back.

The Specter of Voter Anger: Arlen

Today's post is a reprint from my post of well over a year ago: 4-28-09.

Arlen switched parties back then, in part, to "win reelection"...he thought he was so clever and it seems to have backfired on him. He wanted to be on the bandwagon with the new president and benefit from his popularity. He'd been voting with the donkeys for a long time, he just chose then to make it official and marry the jackass and take the name, officially.

All his dutiful obligations to President Obama and the far-left political radical agenda went unnoticed, it seems. He voted with Obama on bailouts, health care, and all the rest, and lo and behold, couldn't even get a visit from the Messiah on election day: instead Obama went on a plant tour in nearby Ohio, not even mentioning the race that meant so much to dear Arlen.

I can't say I'm crying any over this one; just shaking my head. When, oh when will they learn? Obama will still carry on as if none of this mid-term business means a thing to him: after all he knows his days are numbered: he has to inflict as much of his radical ideas onto us in the form of bad legislation before the floors of Congress are scrubbed of his majority, rendering him impotent.

Good bye, Arlen. Can't say that I'll miss you. After all, you've not been a Republican, save for the "R" following your name on the roll call for many decades now. You've just been a ghost, an apparition to us for a long time. Now, you're back from where you came: the ranks of the democrats, and turning is something you've tried before.

It's not a surprise to see that you've left us for your liberal friends on the left side of the aisle, where you truly belong. After all, earlier this year when you ignored the will of the people and voted with the new socialists in power by saying yes to the "stimulus package" without even reading the contents, all to help give the new regime with their first victory over the people, we knew you'd only been hanging around perhaps because of a sense of obligation to those who've helped you get where you are.

Now, you've shown us your true colors and we're glad to have jettisoned you off to your own true home. You've shown us that's where your heart is. Good luck over there, may they welcome you with open arms (and I'm sure a gift or a prize that is a token of their appreciation for all the hard work you've been doing for years on their behalf is forthcoming).

Meanwhile, your sort will be used as an example for years to come to teach exactly the definition is that of a self-serving politician; more interested in re election than in being a leader or a statesman that the people who elected him can be proud of.

Tax Day Tea Party: Lansing, MI

I went Thursday afternoon to the Tax Day Tea Party. Because I went alone, I was not able to take photos, holding a flag and my signs was a little challenging in the high winds, but it was a beautiful day.

I am glad that I went, and was pleased to notice that the Tea Party Crashers didn't make themselves obvious in any way that I saw; there were a few signs that I suspected, but no one was overtly confrontational. The passion just isn't there; or perhaps it was too early for the entitlement class to be ready and on their feet by noon. Either way, it's funny to know they can't get their people out.

The crowd was not as large as they were in the several I went to last year, but I think they are spreading around the state and so there are more participants, just spread out over the state, Michigan is a huge state, and its capitol city is NOT convenient to all of the residents. I know that chapters are still being formed.

I was interviewed by a local television crew (local to where I live), but my footage was not used. I have a feeling it might have been too straight forward.

I found it interesting, though, that the mainstream news station was curious enough to ask me why I thought most tea party participants weren't eager to be interviewed. So, I told them exactly why I thought so.

It is easy to get discouraged. Sometimes, it seems like it's not making a bit of difference. But then, I'm thinking it took Obama a whole year to get his nasty bill for health care passed, we slowed him way down on that and defeated him in almost all elections since he was put into office.

We've also seen yellow-bellied sapsuckers like Bart Stupak decide to "retire" from politics: because of his failure to listen to the people, he knew he had no chance at all win. There are others, they're dropping like flies. Buh bye, Harry.

Anyone up for election who voted to help Obama pass this atrocity knows their days are numbered, so we are making a difference.

I do know for every patriot that showed up on Tax Day, there were a thousand who couldn't....they had to WORK.

After all, SOMEONE has to pay the bills. The middle class can't depend on government to bail them out!

Obama is sure to let the Democrat members of Congress know that if they're going down, which they surely are, that they may as well jam as much legislation down our throats as possible before they leave D.C.

Meanwhile, we enjoy, among many other depressing statistics, an alarming +10% unemployment rate with no end in sight, while China enjoys a 12% GROWTH RATE. What is wrong with this picture?

I'd say the Republican party has its work cut out for them. Yes, they have the advantage this fall, but are they ready for what they'll be handed???

Are they going to REPEAL Obama's health care instead of "fixing" it?

They'd better start FIGHTING right along side us. I've already stopped donating to them: I'm sure I'm not the only one. I now donate directly to those who I determine are conservative enough to warrant our hard-earned dollars. The internet makes it simple enough: and I'm sure that the balances are dropping in the RNC checkbook. They'd better wake up.

Stand for the Red, White & Blue

April 15th is fast approaching.
(I know, not much to celebrate there!)
With it comes an opportunity you may not want to pass up.

If you agree with these statements:

The government is already taking too much of my money.
The government is spending way too much money when they clearly don't have it!
The government is wanting even more of the money of the children who haven't even been born yet!
The government works for ME; not the other way around!

If you find yourself shocked anew EACH DAY at the recklessness with which those who claim to represent you are governing, you can find a Tea Party Patriot protest that will be taking place on April 15th around the country.

Don't let recent negative "news stories" discourage you. We should protest even if we do nothing more than stand silently to show our disdain for the carelessness with which we've been thrown on the tracks of the train that promises bankruptcy, hyper-inflation and more.

I look at it as a chance to say thank you to the soldier for fighting for my right to free speech, and I look at it as a way to say to all those soldiers so willing to defend US...

"Soldier, I WILL NOW STAND UP FOR YOU!"

Because, really when you think about it, they're fighting elsewhere, while we're losing more and more of our freedoms at home!

It's up to us.
And for now, it couldn't be easier.
While they're living on MRE's and don't have clean socks or a decent place to use the bathroom...no air conditioning, and a load of gear to wear and to carry, all we have to do is...

Pack a picnic, make a sign, grab your flag, and make a path to the nearest or largest tea party gathering you can find.

Make your voice heard while you are still able.

Deception, bribery, manipulation, payoffs, massive deficits and massive debt....all wrapped up with procedural maneuvering so that you don't actually have to have your name on a VOTE for this 2300 page bill.

It all sounds great, right? You would want your health care formed with this as its conception....illegitimately, all of it. We wouldn't want the bastard child of the Congress to be aborted, would we?

WHAT IS NEXT? YOU and generations of your children are a slave TO THE GOVERNMENT.

I just can't begin to describe the way I've been feeling lately. I'm grieving, deep down, because I know I'm watching the beginning of the end of America as we all know it. It's been a miserable, difficult death roll we've been on now for more than a year. The government will not take note of the dissatisfaction of the people. It has decided that instead of ruling from the people up, that it will be from the government down.

Your world is turned upside down and that's why you're feeling so disturbed, upset, and sick.

I want to EXPLODE when I hear a congressman say that we have a RIGHT TO HEALTH CARE!

Our rights come from GOD!
OUR RIGHTS DO NOT COME FROM THE GOVERNMENT.

The government is supposed to guard and protect our RIGHTS not INVENT THEM!

It has been a miserable death roll, and we've been fighting it, but it's discouraging to know that we are just at the beginning of our fight. Are we strong enough to continue?

Our country wasn't a perfect country, but it was a wonderful and free country. We are on the verge of a permanent change.

You see, HEALTH CARE is not ABOUT your health, or your care, or insurance, or your doctor, or "fixing" ANYTHING.

This bill is about POWER.

If it was about health care, why did they stick the education in there? Purely because they want the power over that, too. There is no end to the TAKEOVER nature of this president, and you're only seeing the BEGINNING.

He's got more than two years to do more. Cap & Trade and "immigration reform" will be on the heels of "health reform". Especially when Obama, Pelosi, and Reid are spurred on and giddy from the victory in this fight against the PEOPLE to take over health care. He will be assured that the democrats in Congress work for HIM and not for YOU.

In the future, your children will find it necessary to beg the federal government for the money for their loans. The government will decide who gets money for their education and the government will FURTHER control that.

The health care issue isn't about health care. That's the reason you're seeing the "representatives of the people" clearly go against the will of the people and do the bidding of the Marxist president, is because this bill is about POWER.

As if the government hasn't messed things up badly enough, they're ready to seize more power away from you and your family and the doctors you employ and take over your health.

NOTHING the government does is better than what you could do.

You don't need to look far to see proof that the government CANNOT do a better job at this than you can.

Furthermore, to hit our country this way, when we're broke, when our people are losing jobs, left and right and no hope in sight of things getting better, you KNOW there is no consideration here for the AMERICAN PEOPLE.

Just to oversee the TAXATION for this bill, the government will add 16,000 people alone to the IRS. And that is only the beginning of the expansion of your oppressive government. Our children will have dictated to them what they can eat, how many children that they will be allowed, there is no end to the control this will bring. Do you like extreme sports? Too bad, if the government deems that you are not free to make this choice, since YOU are (supposedly) not paying the bill. The government will mess this up as bad or worse than anything they've controlled to date.

The president has shown us exactly WHO and WHAT he is. I consider the actions and antics of the democrats to be flagrant disobedience of the constitution THEY and OUR PRESIDENT swore to uphold. You have seen the government "of, by and for the people" turned on its head.

You will now serve your government.

And they're already on to the next thing they'd like to take over.

Have you got enough fight in you for the rest of your life? Have we raised our children so that they'll be willing to fight the fight?

Our forefathers were willing to risk their lives, the honor, their sacred fortune, and knew when they signed the Declaration of Independence that they were going to have to be willing to pay with their lives.

And look how all that's been lowered, and cheapened.

I "felt" like yesterday's "show" at Blair House in Washington, D.C. was a cruel joke that would have put our forefathers into apoplectic shock. This is not how our government is set up to work!

We have the House, and we have Congress. Our senators DO NOT work for the President. That can take his advisement, but those men and women work for US. We have made our opinion abundantly clear, but as the London Times put it today, we were all supposed to be "bored into submission" yesterday, all the while being aghast at his handsomeness on the television. (Didn't work for me, never has.)

I was proud (and a bit surprised!) of how certain conservatives handled themselves in spite of a measly one hour fifteen minutes allotted to them all to divide up amongst themselves, when they were promised three hours.

And, they had to make the most of their little pittance. They seemed to remember, however, that their responsibility is to the PEOPLE who sent them there, and they seem to have listened to the PEOPLE during the many town hall meetings and the tea party demonstrations that bloomed and spread like weeds across the country last spring.

The Senator who decided to lug the whole bill up to the hill and plop the monstrosity on the table in front of him was very wise. Very. That was a visual that needed no words. Period.

And that young Paul Ryan, well, we should keep our eyes on him: he might be someone who's going places, I hope so anyway. He handily made the messiah look like a kindergarten baby stuck in the gravy. It was quite satisfying to watch, you can look at it here.

When you watch, pay close attention to the face of the President as Ryan makes his case: it ain't pretty. Pointy-headed elitist liberal politicians like Obama and his cohorts are like vampires to garlic in their allergy to the truth.

You can watch twice like I did, it's that good. Pay special attention to the face of our president as he steams vividly in front of your eyes because Ryan is so good at making the point, which Obama would rather he NOT make. (This would clearly explain why Obama very obviously likes closed doors for making his legislation. He can just bully everyone into his way of thinking.)

Paul Ryan made some important and very CLEAR AND CONCISE points which, I'm sorry to say, our president is UNABLE TO DO. He cannot uh.....string enough words together in a way that uh.....holds your attention or to be able to form a precise uh...thought on what the man uh...just uh....said. It really uh....throws uh....a person off his 'game' if uh....this is uh....what you're constantly and uh....consistently hearing. (SHOOT ME NOW!)

So: question for Dear Leader....now how am I supposed to think this government can make and keep their promises and do ANYTHING right after watching that mess?

A. The participants were PROMISED EQUAL TIME. Now promises should mean something. But equal time didn't happen. When the messiah was reminded of this fact, he basically dismissed the information as if he's a duly deserving King, his word means NOTHING, and YOU were the stupid one for believing it!

Yes, THAT'S WHO/WHAT I WANT IN CHARGE OF MY PERSONAL HEALTH CARE!!! I do not want this person who making decisions about my family's life, especially not this Someone who lies through their teeth and looks us straight in the eyes while he's doing it!

The Republicans clearly made more sense in that time than uh....the rest of the uh....people did in uh....their time.

I am amazed, really at the ability of the people in that awful room full of hot air for being able to stay awake that long without an intravenous coffee line hooked up to them.....I admit I didn't watch the whole thing: I couldn't! It would have killed me, I know. But uh....what I did see was uh.....uh......enough to put me to sleep, yawn!

B. The whole premise of this so called "summit" was to come to an agreement of some sort. Right? Wrong.

Anyone who brought up valid points, was shut down. And for proof, watch this exchange between the messiah and McCain. Unbelievable! So, did Obama call them up there to "work with them"? No. He very clearly had no intention of doing that, which we all knew.

John McCain was calling attention, rightly, to the back room "sausage making" deals that certain states were handed in clear bribery (with OUR MONEY!!!) for their vote---and so was summarily dismissed and not only that, McCain was insulted by the most powerful person in the free world for bringing it up!

This young punk who is to be the president of all Americans insults an elderly man who served our country honorably and not only honorably, but above the call of duty! What was McCain slammed for? STANDING UP FOR THE PEOPLE and asking his royal highness if we all (the states) might be treated equally and pointing out the fact that the current bill was illegitimately conceived in corruption by political prostitution and it should be aborted.

Our president publicly insulted John McCain for daring to go to bat for you and me (and mind, I am not one of John's biggest fans but the man is a good man who deserves to be treated respectfully by this America-hater that's in the White House!) and the president did this:

*in front of the whole world
*when he knows the cameras are watching
*proving his nasty (Chicago mafia) side
*all because McCain was too close to the truth

If he's that nasty on camera in front of the whole world, can you imagine his attitude when no one's looking?

Did anyone but me notice the cruel irony of the dirt bag Charlie Rangel, (writer of tax laws) sitting at the table when he's unable to pay HIS OWN TAXES? It makes me want to SCREAM!

His arrogant and haughty attitude should have been kept out of sight, do they not realize what seeing the likes of HIM in front of us for six hours will do when we've just gone and filed our taxes for the year and see the totals required of us, when somehow HE'S ABOVE IT ALL?

Needless to say, I was not able, because I had other things to do, to watch the whole sad debacle, but that is a good thing, because my blood pressure, no doubt would have went through the roof.

I don't know how those Republican senators could sit that long and listen to all that droning for so long. They've clearly earned their salaries this week. I'll give them that!

Talk to the HAND, Obama!

I am so tired of the outright condescension of the mainstream dolts who "sold" Obama to the gullible ones in the American public, with all of his inexperience, holding his background in secret, his questionable ethics, radical associations---laughing in derision at a patriot willing to stand up and speak the truth without fear.

Do I really care if Sarah had a few notes written in her palm? No.

Do THEY care when Obama must have his teleprompter set up at EVERY speaking engagement, even at an elementary school? Someone is typing in everything Obama reads! Do they think they can fool us into thinking that is somehow BETTER?

I'm sure we've all had a chance to hear Obama speak SANS Teleprompter....it ain't pretty.
He stutters, says "uhhh...." constantly and he can't string more than ten words together at a time without pausing for an equal amount of time.

It really doesn't matter if Sarah had a few notes written on her hand. What matters is that they're choosing to focus your attention on THAT instead of what she SAID.

I know what they're up to and I know why they've chosen to focus on the notes in Sarah's palm: it's because they don't really want to focus on the points in her speech:

Obama is a failure, in fact he's a dreadful failure.
Obama is NOT A LEADER. In fact, he's dangerous because he WON'T LEAD: there is a vacuum.
Obama is not upholding his oath of office to protect and defend the American people.
All of Obama's policies are and have all through history, been proven failures.
The economy is not getting better and is not going to while his policies are in place.
Jobs are not going to be coming back anytime soon.
Health Care is a debacle.
Cap and Trade is robbery.
Global Warming/Climate change is a fraud.
We need to provide ourselves with our own energy because we can and we should.

Does the media or the White House even want to get into a debate with someone who has good American common sense and respect and reverence for the Constitution in her heart?

No.

Instead, they're like the bullies in the schoolyard, pointing and laughing, getting their friends in the media to do the same, all ganging up on Sarah because they can.

It will all backfire.

They will not win.

And whether Sarah runs for President or not isn't the point: she's holding this "Messianic" President accountable and that's just not something the media is or has been willing to do and Obama is above being accountable to ANYONE, not even the American people: especially not US!

So while they point, and laugh and make fun, we the American people watch and learn.

They avoided the hard stuff but we won't, we'll remember at the ballot box and we'll speak with a voice they will not be able to continually ignore.

Unbelievably, we've made it through thirteen months of communist rule. In those thirteen months, the American people have made it unfailingly clear to the party in power (of all three branches of legislative government!) that we DO NOT WANT what they are trying to shove down our throats.

For nearly a year, we've been protesting with millions of like-minded patriots across the United States--all of us showing up to show our support and love of our country and our constitution...and to voice our collective opposition to the Communist in Chief's "fundamental transformation of America".

He ignored us. He even ignored the angry mobs that showed up at the Town Hall Meetings held across the country. He ignored that to his own peril and so did Congress and forged ahead by walking right over us...

In September more than TWO MILLION Americans came to Washington, D.C. to protest and the White House issued a statement that they "knew nothing about it." We all know better than THAT.

We've shut down the phone lines to Congress multiple times since this man swore his oath to protect and defend the American people and to uphold the Constitution of the United States (which oath he promptly began to break)!

It's as if we're the rebellious child sitting at the dinner table with the parent staring at us over the plate of cold food that makes us gag every time we put a bite into our mouth.

'YOU'RE GOING TO EAT IT!"

"I'm NOT!"

"You ARE!"

"I'm NOT!"

We as a collective child, handed Obama astounding and overwhelming defeat in three big elections recently as proof of our stubborn and independent spirit.

And so it goes.

And now Obama thinks by calling Mama (the Republican party leaders!) that he'll win us over. His own party didn't get it done, so now it's time to drag down the opposing party with him. If it's not going to happen with his own party, then blame it on the "mama".

What Obama is not counting on is that Americans will stand up and be good Americans and we WILL FIGHT.

WE STILL REMEMBER why we are here, who was willing to pay the price for our freedom and WE WILL NOT LET him forget!!!

He'll learn that there are quite a few of us that are stubborn Americans, unwilling to be leashed up and led along!

He would do well to avoid underestimating us.

We would all do well to study the Bolshevik takeover ...it seems eerily like what is happening to us!

This is another guest post from my sister, Mary. She's summed up my feelings so well, I had to share it with you...Enjoy!

I've had a great day today. The second one in a ROW! After 15 months of frustration, fear and anger I'm feeling so much better because of Tuesday!

My anger has been simmering awhile. It began with TARP. I called and e-mailed along with so many others to voice my overwhelming opposition to this nitwit plan to bail out banks that were supposedly too big to fail. It was hard to tell the difference between John McCain and B.O. on that stinker.

It was very disappointing that McCain was liberal light when it came to TARP with the difference in his stance from Obama. The only difference being that McCain seemed wobbly on his feet and made the misstep of suspending his campaign for a few hours until it was a sorted out. Yep. That did it. It clearly sorted out the negligible difference between him and Obama.

He'd do pretty much the same thing Obama did, but at his age it wasn't worth the risk of electing him. The man who called himself a Reagan foot soldier seemed to have no Reagan values to fall back on. This is a big reason Obama won. It certainly helped give rise to the Tea Party movement! It solidified in our minds that the loss of spine in the Republican Party spelled catastrophy for our country, that if Republicans couldn't find conservatism the party was doomed to fail and Democrats would be in power into infinity.

New York's Congressional election a few months ago should have sent a message to the GOP. Don't bring the weak stuff. Ever Again. DeeDee Scozzafava was a knock-off Republican, and if a pair of knock-off designer shoes costs the same as the real deal, why would anyone pay the big bucks for knock-offs? We aren't stupid. No more democrats in sheep's clothing should get their elections financed by us.

Who screens these people? If the GOP won't do it, we will. At the election booth and with our lack of donations. Our hypocrisy detectors are working overtime.

Tuesday's big victory in the bluest of blue states-- Massachusetts --showed that a conservative Republican with a spine can win, and win big. Micheal Steele doesn't seem to have a spine of steel as much as Senator Elect Scott Brown does. Many Republicans need to hurry to their surgeons office. The faster the better. It's time for a whole bunch of them to get a spine transplant. In blue states or districts, it's plain to see that the Republicans who win are unashamed conservative Republicans.

Mealy-mouthed moderate Republicans may not find it easy to be re-elected except in heavily red states or districts. Get smart or get a transplant! If you refuse, the unemployment line will surely be in your future!

And from Brown's acceptance speech Tuesday night, he showed he isn't worried overmuch about being liked by liberals or the Washington establishment. We conservatives like that.

He re-iterated what the people on the campaign trail had told him. They didn't hire him to be well liked in Washington circles. They hired him to defeat Obama Care. They hired him to spend our tax dollars fighting terrorism, not paying lawyers to defend terrorists in court. The fact that he was willing to drive an older truck around the state as he campaigned was icing on the cake. We've had it with arrogance and elitism and entitlement attitudes from our hired servants.

The democrats think it's glamorous to pull up in a long, black limo after hopping off a taxpayer funded jet. They look down on those who don't. Obama ridiculed Brown for the truck, after recently returning form a tax-payer funded holiday in Hawaii, attended by his family and many friends and multiple thousands of dollars per night just for the lodging ONLY! Our treat. Of course.

Only a nincompoop would enjoy seeing these fat-cats live it up big time on our dime! They just don't get it, but we do. We're cutting back, they aren't. It's refreshing to see a regular guy get into a truck and get to work. Perhaps he can stop on the way to D.C. and pick up a few American made shovels and get busy on shoveling out the CRAP & TRADE once he arrives. Lord knows D.C. could use some cleaning out.

These are some changes needed in the Republican party before I will be behind them collectively.

1. Get back to the platform, back to conservatism....not lip service.

2. Anyone who wants GOP election funding (our money) needs to take Constitutional Law classes from someone like Republican Representative Thaddeus McCotter. Intensive classes. They need to at least know as much as an immigrant must learn to become a citizen. I think the Constitutional illiteracy in D.C. is rampant and shameful.

Micheal Steele needs to learn as much from Tuesday's election as the Democrats do. He shouldn't get too puffed up because the people are angry at the Republicans, too!

He should advance this plan now. I know I've been reluctant to donate money to the GOP, but I'd happily donate for Constitutional Literacy training.

After intensive infusions of Constitutional Law, an in-depth study of Reagan values would be in order. I'm sick of moderates saying they're just like Reagan. They don't even know what he stood for, or why his principals worked to pull our country out of the miserable Jimmy Carter Recession!

Learn it, Republicans-- and more great days are in the future!

TO DO: Please mention to anyone that will listen that CONSTITUTIONAL LITERACY needs to be present in the houses of Congress....we're not too confident that those in Washington, D.C. even know what it says any longer! Call your RNC or your representative in the House or Congress.

Guest Post: VICTORY DAY!

Today I'm having a good day. Wait, what am I saying: good? Amazing!

Yes, nothing short of amazing! Walking on air. On cloud nine. I'm ecstatic, driving to the post office in my clunker, I sang "You say you want a revolution?" I had to call CONgress today. I couldn't e-mail them. I wanted them to hear the jubilation in my voice.

You see, for 15 months or so, I've called with fear, anger, frustration; imploring them to do the right thing, the Constitutional thing. Did they listen? Nope. Did they take note when we attended Tea Parties? None. They ridiculed that display. They were above listening to warnings, you see! Up in their ivory towers, they looked down on us peasants and said "Let them eat cake!"

I did enjoy the Tea Parties. Going to the April 15th party in our state capitol was especially helpful in boosting my hope. Seeing the Constitutional Literacy and self-sacrifice of my fellow Americans, I had hope for our country and great pride in the fact that people were standing up and taking matters into their own hands.

In spite of the great numbers of protesters across the country, I knew the politicians weren't listening. There were so many more downs these last months than ups. Today is an up day and I'm enjoying it.

I began the day by calling my Congressman. He's a democrat you may have heard of, Bart Stupak (D-MI). I disagree with him when he says health care is a right. It's not; it's a responsibility we all need to work hard to provide. As small business owners, my husband and I know how expensive health insurance is. Still, if I think it's bad now, just wait till it's free!

So, I called Stupak's office and urged him to vote no on any version with a "public option". Even though I disagree often with Stupak, his aides have always been polite, and he has even returned my call himself on a few occasions. I appreciate his professionalism and apparent lack of arrogance. Today my name and address was taken and the congressional aide was very polite. I do think the aide could tell I was a very happy citizen today.

Then I called Senator Debbie Stabenow(D-MI) office. Her aides have been very rude in the past, right up until Christmas Eve, which was the last time I called there. You'll never guess! The aide was much more polite today. Stabenow is up for re-election in 2012, you see. Perhaps after last night, she's a little worried about her re-election bid. Perhaps her aides are worried about standing in an unemployment line, so they're being more polite starting today.

If you'd heard the call, you'd know that's not saying much, but still, it was enough for me to notice. I took the opportunity to urge Stabenow to vote against Obama Care in any form. The only health care reform we need is medical malpractice reform, I told her. And intra-state competition.

Then I said that although I'm aware Debbie Stabenow's husband appreciates prostitution, Michigan voters do not. We don't appreciate her prostituting her vote for health care reform to get goodies from the federal government for the state of Michigan. But, at least she wasn't just a tramp. At least she didn't GIVE her vote away, as Senator Carl Levin (D-MI) did. All the same, she got a deal just a tad less sweet than the Nebraska Senator got for his state.

Then I called Carl Levin's office. In the following script, ASS stands for Arrogant Senatorial Staffer. I know, ASS sounds like... well, you know. But I didn't call him that. Just sayin' !

And as for me, I'll be represented by TOT, or Ticked-Off-Taxpayer.

ASS: Hello. Could you hold, please?

(Nine minutes and 27 seconds later)

ASS: Hello, thanks for holding.

TOT: (with jubilant voice) Oh, no. Not at all. I'm sure your phone lines are burning up! I just wanted to say I hope that Carl Levin will vote no on any form of Obama Care. As lasts nights election in the indigo blue state of Massachusetts proves, we don't want Obama Care or CRap and Trade. If a Republican can win in Massachusetts, then a Republican can win Carl Levin's seat. Levin might actually have to CAMPAIGN next time around, instead of putting his name on the ballot, and doing nothing in order to win. Even then, I might meet him in the unemployment line.

ASS: (snarky voice) I'll be sure to pass your comment along to him.

TOT: (jubilant voice) Oh, I'm not done, I have a question for the Senator. Does he know the Second American Revolution has begun?

ASS: (very snarky voice) The Second American Revolution??!!??

TOT: (oh, so jubilant) Why, yes. In the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Only this time, Patriots are using votes instead of muskets! Last night was the shot heard 'round the world. Did the Senator hear it?

ASS: (With angry voice) I'm sure I don't know. Well, you have a nice day.

TOT: Oh, trust me: I'm having a great day! But, since it sounds like my day is going so much better than yours, I'd like to take this opportunity to wish YOU a nice day!

ASS: Well, thank you. GOOD-BYE!

Ah, that felt so good. It was a long time coming, don't you think? Take the time to call Congress tomorrow!

ANOTHER SHOT WAS FIRED TODAY IN THE FIRST (of many) BATTLES OF THE SECOND AMERICAN REVOLUTION!!!!

The neat thing is that shot was fired in one of the original thirteen colonies: The Commonwealth of Massachusetts! Brown will be going to Washington, D.C. with more than the mantle placed upon him by the people of his own state. He will be going there for us, too. I know that he's aware that MANY, many Tea Party Patriots helped him arrive here.

I long ago stopped blindly donating to the RNC.

I will support candidates of MY CHOOSING and have been sending money to worthy candidates across the country if I feel their race is important enough for involvement with the hopes that some day, other Tea Party Patriots will help to defeat the democratic stranglehold on the state of Michigan!

If it can happen in Massachusetts, I would say it could happen ANYwhere!

The forefathers, in all their hard-won wisdom, knew that they needed to build in some checks and balances to the system of government that we have.

AND they knew that one party, with absolute power would be a runaway train and gave us all a way to correct that train.

You saw the people take the first step in hand today of that big engine on the train. They are sending Washington a message. "Give us back our power!!!"

(It wasn't TED KENNEDY'S SEAT, it was the PEOPLE'S seat!!)

THE HEALTH CARE BILL IS DEAD. WHAT'S MORE?
The Kennedy Dynasty is finally dead, and laid to rest, gone, forgotten about!!!!

An End to Hand-wringing Over GLOBAL WARMING.

We all have proof positive now that there was a broad-ranging and long-standing, widely accepted GLOBAL WARMING scheme, perpetrated on the world by the so-called experts in the scientific community who aligned themselves with a group with political ambitions. The political and scientific communities melding themselves together is never a good thing.

This scheme was exposed only this week to the elite intellectuals who were still drinking the kool-aid!

Ready or not, the world saw definitive proof that there was a planned "fix" on us to convince us of their global warming "theory"! All of this done by a group of individuals, whom we should, in their eyes, naturally kow-tow to because they wear the title of "scientist" --which to a non-believer is right up there in God's place.

No skeptics were allowed in this religion of the Green, you were to bow, just swallow and believe all the lies, no questions asked. If one was brave enough to question they were looked upon with a derisive condescension and a decision about the intelligence of the questioner was made by the pointy-headed elites pushing this theory.

And, all the malarkey--- proven once again---shows the sad truth: that a lot of those in government and media (same thing these days!) and those teaching our children in the public schools can be easily hoodwinked and fooled like little lame-brained ninnies. How sad.

Sadder still is that intelligentsia will fail to realize how gullible they really are and accuse us who never went along with it in the first place of being what they actually have been: nincompoops.

I can see now, why people have been so easily led across time to follow despicable despots and tyrannical maniac rulers: yes even someone like Hitler who in a democracy was handed so much power. He had those willing to lap up everything he said and take it as gospel, and not only did those who handed people like Hitler his power fail to be thorough and cynical, but they went further and acted upon his lies, and willingly and carelessly threw out the window all the truth they'd once known to turn around and accept the gospel of a devil. This is how evil flourishes.

We will let the academics argue amongst themselves all the finer points of their deception and scheming but this all comes down to one very simple thing to me:

I HAVE TO TRUST GOD.

I know GOD is in charge of the weather and GOD is the One who the Bible tells us has formed us, as well as the earth, and He is the only One who can control what happens to this great big universe we live in.

THOSE WHO ARE ANTI-GOD DON'T TRUST HIM.

They trust themselves and they are constantly trying to place themselves above Him.

How many times now, in our own lifetime, have we heard their "theories"....for me, it first was global cooling, then it's global warming and now that "theory" is sunk and they'll be on to the next big "catastrophe"!

(Believe me, there WILL be another major calamity these dunces will predict.)

These "scientists" have once again been proven to be frauds and once again, have been exposed for what they really are: unbelievers.

No wonder the lies were exposed. When you go against God, you're bound to lose.

Not since the days of Jimmy Carter have I felt so down about our country. The peanut farmer was bad but you could chalk it up to naivete and just being plain dumb.

And, I thought Bubba was bad, but these days I find myself longing for the good old days of Bill selling our secrets to the Chinese and accepting donations on the sly from Arab sheiks, and manipulating young interns. It was far better than this.

I do not say that lightly. I did not care for Bill and Hill and their policies. BUT THEY KNEW WHEN THEY WERE BEAT!

OBAMA DOESN'T.

The American people with common sense never voted for him.

The American people that lack logical thought processes and common sense and went with the flow are sorry they voted for him.

And those that did vote for him are STILL chronically unemployed and standing in line at Cobo Hall in Detroit, waiting for their "stimulus checks" and left empty-handed and didn't have the sense to be ashamed of themselves for showing up.

I am sick of him apologizing to every Sheik, King and Emperor.

FOR THE RECORD: I am not sorry we bombed Hiroshima. It looks like it improved the place to me. Are they not, is the whole world not better off since we put an end to the Second World War? Yes. Should the President of the United States bow to those who invented suicide bombings with planes and blew up our boys on Navy ships while they were in Pearl Harbor? NO!!

(God forbid a mother who had lost her boys in that bombing watch this spineless wonder bow himself before the emperor of Japan!)

I believe this man Obama is an enemy of the state. I heard a Michigan Congressman this morning state on WJR that Obama had the Fort Hood shooter on his PRESIDENTIAL TRANSITION TEAM....on the Homeland Security panel, no less! I'm sure you are as appalled as I was when I heard it. That would explain a lot, you know.

And, when Hasan the Jihadist was placed on this panel, the Army already knew he was trouble. Did the fact that Obama hand-picked him embolden him to carry out his act of terror on our brave men and women as he was about to ship out? His act of terror will have a demoralizing effect on our troops much more so because it happened at home and on base. I'm sure Hasan weighed this out and knew which method would be most "effective".

Did the fact that Major Nadal Malik Hasan was on Obama's transition team lead him to ask us and the soldiers to "reserve judgement" and to ask the Congress to "hold off" on their investigation?

I believe Obama has ushered in an era of prolonged misery and the misery index is high, and will not stop climbing as long as this pansy is in office.

Saying that he allowed his inept attorney general Eric Holder decide what to do with the Guantanamo detainees is either an outright lie or an intentional dereliction of duty. This is an abomination.

So is the fact that we get a lecture from him while he's in China about "reducing spending"! Don't make me laugh! The American people rose up and opposed the stimulus and all the giveaways and slush funds and bailouts and now he tells us it all might cause a "double-dip recession"!! He's just a little late to the party!

Each day, each hour, brings more news that is devastating all on its own, and we're barely given time to absorb it before this Marxist administration, in its effort to destroy America, hits us with another blow.

It's Veteran's Day!

If you know a vet, thank him or her. If you do not know one, then pray for our military stationed around the world who serve so we can live and worship freely.

All over our country there are monuments to soldiers, past and present. We recognize that it's the soldier that has bought and paid for our freedom.

They will last for ages, but most of all, the monument must be inside of us, in our hearts....

Let's remember that we have to pass our love for freedom to the next generation.

Holocaust Lessons

As a former home schooler, I enjoy taking chances when they're presented to us to learn new things and due to a few days off school recently for my son, he and I and my sister and her daughter visited the Holocaust Museum .

It was a moving experience. No admission is charged. It is a very quiet place, and rightfully so.

NO cameras are allowed, all cell phones were to be turned off. That fits with the solemn and respectful occasion that visiting this museum is.

The building was made to look industrial and that is to make one recall the buildings (specially built and put up fast by the Jews!) in which they gassed the millions.

The REASON FOR GAS, we learned, is that shooting and killing massive amounts of humans proved to be a dirty, messy, "demeaning" and stressful job for those in the SS that were required to do it.

So, a faster, cleaner method of killing the unwanted people had to be devised. It's appalling how fast this method came to be, and how quickly those buildings were put up!

(I cannot imagine the meetings that took place discussing the best method to do away with this "messy" mass killing.)

There are railroad tracks out front that remind us of the trainloads of Jews that were driven to their miserable existence (and most likely their deaths from hard labor and slavery) packed in those boxcars like sardines, treated worse than animals. Inside the museum was a replica of a train car they would have traveled in. We saw photos of long, terrible marches that took place in the dead of winter where many of those didn't make it to their horrible destination, they died on the way.

It's not an pleasant trip, but very educational, and sobering. I'm not sure if our schools even teach about the holocaust in any great depth any more, but they should, absolutely.

And as one of the sweet elderly ladies we visited with in the museum gift shop said to our children,
'IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN."

(Those words chilled me to the bone.)

You want to hope it doesn't, but it shows the nature of man to want to BLAME someone or some race for their "troubles", and it proves what can happen when too much power is invested in one man and his radical, wrong ideas. It shows how far off track we can get when we follow along in a MOVEMENT and stray from our long-held beliefs and fail to keep our eye on the compass of TRUTH.

You can do a self-guided tour, or you can wait until a docent can guide you through, once time per day. Then, at the end of each day a holocaust survivor comes in to talk to groups that have finished their tour.

Now, sadly, we did not get there for the docent, nor that day did a survivor show up. BUT...I would highly recommend using both the docent and making sure a survivor would be on hand to answer questions. It was a moving experience, especially for our kids. I don't think they ever realized HOW MANY people went to die in such huge numbers. Some of the photos were hard to look at, the cruelty too much to comprehend.

Most touching was the wall on your way out that listed each and every site (in MANY countries!) where the Jews were killed and how many in each camp and how many in each country. It was unreal.

The kids also could stand and listen to recorded firsthand stories of children (now quite elderly) that were separated from their parents and their whole families to be rescued by families in England. There was a wall of responsibility from which we learned how news organizations and respected institutions were held up to scrutiny for their refusal to acknowledge that this was happening and tell the story of the torture, experiments and mass slaughter taking place all over Europe. There was a place to read about the deliberate blind eye turned to the reality of this happening by those around the world, including the press, world and religious leaders.

It was a very sobering experience, one that is especially meaningful. Our kids learned about the harvesting of fillings from the teeth, the scientific experiments performed live on these victims, their dissections after their deaths, and the way the people were starved and worked to death, and then stacked like cord wood when they were too starving, sick or too weak to live any longer. It's raw, emotional and it was REAL.

It is an experience that shows what can happen when APATHY takes over a country. It is a place that reminds us that INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS are always the first to go in a direction that takes us where we DO NOT WANT TO BE AND SHOULD NOT GO. First they were limited to the ghetto, they had curfew, told what jobs they could and could not do, who they could and could not interact with. From there it moved on to the unthinkable, and it was ALL VERY FAST in about the space of fifteen years or less from inception to liberation.

If you have a Holocaust Museum near you, visit it, take your children, I think you will be glad you did. Our kids experience while there was very emotional for them, but at almost 13 and almost 14, I think they were ready for the reality of what happened.

Another Government "FIX" that WASN'T.

Today I heard a news report on the radio, you know, one of those "government studies" that informs the ignorant among us mere serfs of things like how whales like to mate and the ratio of males to female in the classrooms, how many teachers are gay, that sort of thing. The kind of study that makes you scratch your head and say "They had to HIRE someone to figure that out?!" or...."Who thinks up this stuff???!"

Well today's little "government tidbit" made me flip my lid.

For a long time, I've been wondering WHY it is that the federal idiots inserted themselves into our local lunch programs and school cafeterias.

I hate to sound like an old-timer, but really! Back when I was a kid, local schools ran their own school lunch programs and the food was REAL, and it was GOOD, and it was HOT and there was a nice VARIETY.

There were actual MOMS in that cafeteria kitchen working like crazy, aprons on, to make us a nice hot lunch and on Fridays, they baked REAL, GOOD, HOT cookies! YUM! Then, once lunch was over, there was the smell of bleach and the sound of dishes crashing and banging as the whole mess was cleaned up and dishes washed and put away for tomorrow!

For some reason, though, the schools were urged into giving up control (the "School Lunch Program"!) and told that if they were going to accept federal money to feed poor children, then they had to abide by federal guidelines and the fed told them what, how much, and who to feed. (We are all aware of how the federal government likes to solve problems that AREN'T THERE, that no one asked them to solve, in ways that make no sense and that ultimately are not good for any involved in the situation.)

They re-regulated every single area of the food service in schools so much so that they school lunch programs OUGHT to be called the "federal school frozen food re-heating center". Ask me, I know. I've worked in a lunch room as a sub and saw the absolute garbage they ask our children to eat.

The food is not hot, it is not good, it is not nutritious, and it is not pretty. I daresay the evidence would suggest that since the interference of "federal lunch programs" and the invention of "convenience foods" our children have not gotten healthier. Our lunch rooms, mandated with federal law, have not helped in the goal of healthier children at all, and in fact are contributing to their problems!

I'm not that old and I recall this about our (locally controlled) school lunch rooms.

1. You could smell good home-cookin' the minute you entered the school in the morning. What a welcoming smell, (real) baked chicken and (real) mashed potatoes with green beans, and the followed by (real) apple pie! WOW!

2. We ate off of real dishes and used real silverware, yes, it had to be washed, but that's what the lunch ladies did!

3. We ate hot, nutritious food and your drink choices were water, milk, or orange juice. All major food categories were very well represented on your tray, therefore reinforcing what you learned about nutrition in your lessons.

4. Following lunch, we (in orderly fashion) would turn in our trays, drop our dishes and silverware in big tubs, and run outside for a nice long recess. (I am sure there were far fewer problems with concentration at that time!)

5. THERE WERE NOT 1-3 main entrees. THERE WAS ONE. It was plopped onto your tray and you were expected to eat it. They didn't care if little McKenzie didn't like green beans. If you didn't eat well, the lunch ladies knew it. And, more than likely, your mom would find out and you'd be in trouble....because mom and dad were paying for it!

And, from my experience volunteering in the school lunchroom, this is what we have after years of federal intervention, mandated to our local schools for the "good of the children".

1. "Lunch" is just pre-packaged, mostly frozen entrees pulled out of boxes and thrown on a tray and into the oven, it's rare that ANYTHING is fresh or made from scratch or is REAL food. The food looks lifeless and colorless, and is not bright, fresh, aromatic and appetizing.

2. The children eat off paper or Styrofoam and use plastic silverware, a new set, every day, thereby voiding any "earth friendly" lessons they may have learned that day, all the waste goes directly, needlessly, to landfills.

3. They have a lukewarm lunch of substandard nutritional value--mostly PROCESSED FOODS, and therefore not filling--food. Fast food. Empty calories full of fat.

5. They are hurried through a lunch that is not appetizing (my child's elementary had FIFTEEN MINUTES!), and hurried out to the playground for a very short recess (again, fifteen minutes!).

6. There aren't a whole lot of dishes to do, but there's a whole lot of "garbage" and the hypocrisy of teaching "green" to these kids is lost on the ever-knowing all-intelligent federal government.

7. The trays that were heated then and used for serving this so-called food are then put away, to be pulled out again for tomorrow morning's "federally mandated school breakfast program" which is also packaged "goodies" like frozen french toast sticks dipped in sugary syrup.

8. There are anywhere from one-three main entrees per day for finicky eaters, and they're mostly all bad choices.

9. There may be small fresh salads (rather dull and lifeless looking!) and perhaps canned fruit or jello offered, but they are optional, they are not put onto any child's tray.

AREN'T you so glad your local schools caved to the feds and yielded control of their own fresh food, fruits, vegetables and baked goods for boxed, frozen foods to feed our kids and then we can medicate them into sitting still and "learning"...?

AND NOW.....for the BIG BREAKING NEWS of the day...Your FEDERAL GOVERNMENT HAS SWEPT IN AND DETERMINED THAT SCHOOL LUNCHES ARE TOO FULL OF EMPTY CALORIES AND FAT.

WOW! (Who would have thought THAT?)

And, I wonder what THAT STUDY COST that just plain old common sense would have told any MOTHER. (All they needed to do is ask one of us!)

And, we are supposed to believe that they know what's best for our HEALTH and our health care?

I phoned my sister the other day and asked; are you watching FOX News? You gotta see it! They’re doing a story on Sheriff Joe. She knew who I was talking about. He’s a friend of ours. No. We’ve never met him, twittered him or spoke to him. But we love him just the same. Joe Arpaio is the Sheriff of Maricopa County, AZ. He’s in the news often for his innovative ways in implementing law enforcement.

There was a problem several years back with prisoners stealing underwear when they were released from prison, causing financial burdens for the county. Joe came up with a solution to the high costs of underwear thievery in the wild west and dyed it all pink. Problem solved. Guess men don’t want to be seen in pink underwear after release from prison.

Due to overcrowding in county prisons he built a tent city to house prisoners instead of implementing early release, or building costly new prisons. He decided if our brave troops could live in tents in the middle of the desert, so could thugs who had preyed on society. They are fed bologna sandwiches: EVERY DAY. They can watch TV during recreation time, as long as it’s the weather channel. (Can you imagine living in a tent, in the baking heat of an oppressive summer in the desert and seeing that the Midwest is experiencing highs of 60 degrees in August, thanks to the horrors of "Global Warming"?)

My sister and I know a ne’er-do-well who lives in Maricopa County. This guy wouldn't be too fond of Sheriff Joe, which elevates Joe mightily in our opinion! Perhaps he’s seen the inside of Sheriff Joe’s prison a time or two, like Charles Barkley who was incarcerated there for a time after a DUI conviction. When asked about the conditions of the prison, Barkley’s reply was something like: “I didn’t like being in this prison, which is exactly why I won’t be driving under the influence any longer”. Problem solved. I doubt Barkley will be a repeat-offender. Isn't that the way it should work?

Recently Sheriff Joe encountered another problem. The Feds want him to cease rounding up illegal immigrants. But he doesn’t work for the Feds. He works for the people of Maricopa County. When elected, Joe swore to uphold the law, an oath he takes seriously. So he’ll continue to round up the illegals. He’s treated with contempt by Obama’s Justice Department, who call him an “Oather”; their term for those who take their oaths when sworn into office seriously. Obama has done his best to establish that, contrary to law, proof of natural citizenship is unnecessary to being president. Those who disagree are derisively called “Birthers”. I’m a “birther” and while I don’t hold public office, I do believe oaths should be taken seriously. I must be an “oather” as well.

This leads me to a Christmas gift idea. I’ll have t-shirts printed with the words: “I Heart Sheriff Joe”. And after watching Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech to the U.N. a few weeks back in which he questions their sanity for allowing Iranian President Ahmadinejad to speak and deny the holocaust, I became a fan of Netanyahu as well. He’ll defend Israel against bullies in the region. He reminds me of Sheriff Joe, willing to question conventional wisdom, use common sense in spite of bullying by Washington Know-it-All types, and stand behind his beliefs, back up his oath and defend his countrymen.

If I didn’t believe as our founding fathers did, that Presidents should be born in the United States I’d also print a t-shirt which says: “Netanyahu for President, 2012”. If Obama is successful in striking down the natural-born-citizen law, it’d be possible for Netanyahu to be our president. He could just pronounce that he was born here, offer no proof and run for the highest office in the land. And Netanyahu would win in a landslide if he were to choose Sheriff Joe as his running mate.

Being a western sheriff, Joe Arpaio reminds me of another western hero, John Wayne. Joe seems to have the steel backbone of the fictional character when standing up to bullies and law breakers. And I can hear Sheriff Joe say with narrowed eyes, as Val Kilmer said when playing the character Doc Holliday, “I’m your huckleberry!” Or, in translation:

“Bring it: and may the best man win!”

Go JOE!

A Pastor's Letter to Obama

I got this email the other day, and after reading it, I thought why not share it with all of you Restless Patriot readers. This pastor is a real person, and I think, an excellent writer. I was watching the day Obama stood in Strasbourg and said those words that hurt so many Americans to the core. I cannot imagine how it must have hurt those who may have lost someone in that great War. I think Herb Flanders put this very well, and hope you enjoy reading this letter and pass it on.

As a side note that may be of interest to you: the Attorney General of the United States has now employed a group of people, at your expense, to troll the Internet and post anonymously on blogs that oppose Obama; their job is to comment in support of the President. I actually hope that one of them stops in today, it would be a great day for someone to try to defend the President's words that apologize for our "treatment" of the Europeans.

This is an editorial that appeared in the Griffin, Georgia newspaper, written by Pastor Herb Flanders of the United Methodist Church.

Dear President Obama,

As I gather the Sunday before Memorial Day to worship with two United Methodist congregations I pastor in Griffin, Georgia, I'll think about some of your recent comments. I'll be thinking of what you told a crowd of about 2,000 in Strasbourg, Germany, as you spoke of our nation's views of Europe -

"Instead of celebrating your dynamic union and seeking to partner with you to meet common challenges, there have been times where America has shown arrogance and been dismissive, even derisive."

The gray, balding heads on the people who worship with me attest to their years of toil and labor on this Earth. They are, as Jesus said, the 'salt of the Earth." They are grandmamas and granddaddies, blue collar folks who worked hard to build a community and raise families, to give to others when they had precious little for themselves. They continue to do these things today. Salt of the Earth they are and heroes to boot. When this nation called they answered with a resounding 'yes' and went where Uncle Sam asked them. A couple of months ago, we laid John Busbin to rest.

Like you, he visited Europe on behalf of the U.S. He beat you there by 65 years and spent his time marking and clearing mine fields, not giving speeches. Rather than being arrogant, dismissive or derisive, John partnered with the French and others to meet a common challenge. Others did the same, sailing on ships, slogging through mud or soaring through the air because evil and tyranny were well on their way to taking over the world.

I wish you'd come May 24th and sit with these folks as we sing America the Beautiful and America. I'd like it if you could sit up front with me when Maxine Bunn and Jerry Turner do a medley of military service hymns and the veterans or spouses of deceased veterans stand when their branch's hymn is played. They grab hold of the pew in front of them to pull themselves to their feet. I know I'm in the company of giants.

I'd love for you to meet Janie Worthy and understand those tears that still glisten on her cheeks each Memorial Day Sunday.

Janie married John Pershing Botkin in August 1943. Their daughter Gail was born Aug. 10, 1944, three or four months after John shipped out to Europe. Janie, 19, went to St. Mary's, Ohio to stay with her in-laws after Gail was born. One Sunday afternoon in early December, farm families began to call each other as the postmaster's Model A made its way down the country roads. They knew that car carried news that would shatter a family and were trying to figure out where he was headed. He stopped in front of Janie's in-laws' farmhouse. Her daddy-in-law walked out to meet him and learned that John was killed in action Nov. 11, 1944, serving with the Army in Alsace. Cpl. Botkin never saw, held or kissed his little girl .
As a father, you can empathize with Janie's salty tears.

Perhaps if you could come you'd see why your words hurt so many so much.

America may be many things and she certainly isn't perfect, but heroes with whom I share my life have hardly been arrogant, dismissive or derisive of Europe. They've given themselves to save Europe when Europe couldn't save itself.

So, Mr. President, get out of Washington for a weekend and take a trip down to Georgia. We'll feed you some barbecue over in Williamson and I'll introduce you to some friends of mine, some everyday giants and ordinary heroes.

Where I Stand: Floored.

It is time for the great, silent majority of Americans to stand up and be counted.

I have been neglectful of this blog lately. It's not that I don't have concerns about the glut of different issues that are presented to us each day. I do: grave concerns. It's that I cannot keep up; I truly feel overwhelmed and cannot finish thinking one issue through to a conclusion, than another more urgent and even more consequential presents itself, complicating the process in my little brain even further! There is a wealth of information out there and you can sift through it and it can take you hours each day, if you dig really deep.

I have to admit, I have been slammed to the floor, the count is on, and I have to get back up and keep fighting.

I am SO WEARY of the deaf ear that Washington turns to us. I am so weary of our CLEARLY ANTI-AMERICAN President. It seems as if everything is aligned against the average American.

But does that give me a right to give up?

We are an average American family in that we take out our own garbage, clean our own garage, make our own repairs, do our own laundry, take care of our own children, and cook our own meals, preserve our own food from the garden, pay our own bills, remodel our own kitchen, and all that goes with home ownership, responsible employment, and being caring and involved parents. That takes a lot of our time, as does sleeping...seven hours a night.

So, how does one keep up with the issues, and how does the average American, like us, take time out of our lives for a revolution?
I do not know, but I think we're all going to have to figure it out.

During the Bush administration, I found it necessary to keep the White House and Congress telephone directory handy, and I made a lot of phone calls, wrote emails and letters. I was upset about the Education reform (in particular that Bush would hand off the reigns of it to none other than Ted Kennedy!!), campaign reform (with that moderate McCain in charge!) and his position on (non) immigration reform, his nominee for the Supreme Court, his (wrong-headed) two-state solution in regard to Israel; the Patriot Act, among many things, but none were issues that were so great that I thought could or would absolutely destroy our country.

This year, beginning in February, Tea Parties started to happen across the nation, and they kept up and happened on Tax Day and on the Fourth of July, both of which I was able to participate in. And then, the mother of them all; a National Tea Party took place in Washington D.C. on 9-12 that saw nearly two million Americans (all but ignored) in the streets, peacefully demonstrating their opposition to the lies, the spending and the deception that D.C. is full of.

There were also the Town Hall Meetings on National Health Care "Reform", all meetings that took place late this summer, unlike anything I'd ever seen in the United States in my lifetime. The people took their message, as they should, to their representatives. Their wishes were loud and clear:
WE DON'T WANT WHAT YOU'RE TRYING TO SELL US.
(It wasn't about party, it was about the ISSUE!)
We were called all manner of ugly names BY OUR REPRESENTATIVES IN WASHINGTON for DARING to speak up.
But we did it ANYWAY.

In response to OUR ACTIONS, it was demonstrated before our eyes was the clear bullying of the American people by the SEIU, ACORN, and the "Organizing for America" arm of the White House. It still did not stop Americans from showing up, even though the union thugs were happy to do their President's bidding and intimidate us into staying home.

(I was not able to participate in these "Town Halls", because the yellow-bellied sapsucker democrats that represent Michigan in Congress were "too booked up" for a face-to-face with the people, and as a late-comer, our house representative booked a "town hall" by invitation only, and then when Ted Kennedy died, they canceled it and said they'd have a "phone" town hall. Think anyone showed up? The cowards.)

Did the representatives listen?

Perhaps some of them did. Some of them, concerned about their own hides and the ire of the voters in their district will not go for it. Most of the so-called representatives have shown more willingness to listen to the president than they are their own constituents. They set back out to D.C. in September to get busy on none other than the Health Care "Reform" like they never heard a word that was said, and make it even more dubious, secretive and confusing for us (and themselves!) to understand. They've decided that "we don't need to know" and refused to back legislation that would have required sunshine allowed in on their debacles: a law that would require that their bill be online for 72 hours before a vote, stating that "It would take too long" to get the bill up and online. What sounds wrong with THAT line of bull?

This administration is clearly, and hastily dismantling what you and I know to be "our country"....the one involved in the declaration of independence, the constitution and all the sacred and important documents that gave birth to the freedom and innovation and excellence that is America: resulting in freedom that gave room to the thought process and problem-solving ability that is distinctly American.

THEY ARE OVERWHELMING THE SYSTEM: CLOGGING IT WITH LEGISLATION THAT YOU AND I NEITHER WANT NOR NEED.
They do not intend for you to be able to keep up.
They do not intend for the court system or watch-dog groups to be able to KEEP UP.
Their goal is for us to GIVE UP.

They want you to be overwhelmed, they want the government and its built-in watchdogs and the rest of us to throw up our hands and decide that there's nothing we can do. Truly, it is like a Goliath, to think that we could defeat what is being done to us and to ur children and grandchildren.

What happens when something is stuffed full and jamming up the pipes?

Like a toilet, it will back up, and most will turn away.

SOME BRAVE SOUL WILL GRAB THE PLUNGER.

IT HAS TO BE US.

We have to fight for our soldiers, who the President is clearly willing to hang out there in the WIND.

I'm sorry, I can't think of anything better to compare what is going on right now to us: a group of people in D.C., insulated from the real world and what happens to real working families who are independent and not needing government to do anything "for" or "to" them...than a toilet that inconsiderate souls are willing to clog up and then walk away from. It's not a pleasant word picture, but it's so applicable.

That's where I stand: floored.

I feel that I have nothing to offer you in the way of anything constructive to do: I can offer my opinion, I can offer ways to help and keep you informed of the issues. BUT that's a full-time job and I don't have time for all that.

I encourage you to keep up on the news.
DO NOT LET UP ON WASHINGTON.

Do yourself a favor and pay attention to and watch or listen to people like Rush, Glenn Beck, Laura Ingraham, and all those who won't lie to you because they have in interest in getting something over on you: they really care about their country. Keep your motivation.

The Never Ending Campaign: TALK, TALK, TALK.

All he knows is campaigning. All he does, therefore, is campaign.

I, for one, am tired of it. But, this is after all, our first president who was a community organizer. And the first who has kept his campaign machine in place AFTER he was elected, and who unashamedly uses same to foist his agenda upon the silent (and non-compliant) masses.

The thing is, unexpectedly to him I'm sure, the silent masses (the tax-paying money machines) are starting to awaken and they are beginning to use their newly discovered "community organizing" skills and taking time out of their busy lives and jobs to counter-campaign against an insurgent presidency. Most probably never knew what a "community organizer" actually was before Obama.

Yes, the working class is learning what Obama knows: making signs and showing up and talking. We have acquired a new skill. We're using it fabulously against our new community organizer in chief. Now we need a role reversal for the President: something that would be new to him and that would be WORK.

Someone needs to teach him how to get his nose to the grindstone and work. I don't think the man has ever had to really accomplish or actually be accountable to or for anything in his life outside of being a student and that just ain't real life, sorry to say. (Why else do we have "eternal students all over the country, who never really accomplish anything in their lives?)

His time in the U. S. Senate was only getting his toes wet and he barely took a stand on anything and to avoid the hard work of legislating there he began a presidential run to avoid the work of being a US senator. In Illinois, he learned to really like the "present" vote in his home state while he "served" there.

Before all of that nothingness? What did he DO? Was he really accountable for anything? Or, was he always "running" for something? Methinks the latter. The man doesn't know how not to campaign. He proves it almost every day.

We need a man with a work ethic to get ahold of this man and let him know that hardworking, taxpaying Americans are sick of seeing him run around the country talking and giving "pep rally" slogans to the audiences of adoring SEIU and ACORN members (who need no convincing, they're already his biggest fan base so he's preachin' to the choir). They already love him and if he said he were legislating free dogs for everyone in the country, I'm sure they'd cheer him on and declare it an American right to own a pet (why not?!) and be blissfully happy that they heard the man declare it (constitution be damned!).

We did not hire a celebrity, we hired a man to do the hardest of all jobs: protect and defend the people and the constitution of the United States.

Being a community organizer like he was I think the most those people actually do is collect checks and TALK. If you like his sort, I guess he talks well. I get bored within two minutes of hearing him, mostly because he says the same thing twelve different ways. He collects a pretty nice check, too. But where is the evidence of taking on the hard issues we face and the results of taking on the leadership that the presidency requires?

In the words of a famous country tune...A little less TALK, (TALK, TALK), and a lot more ACTION.

Shut up, Mr. President and GET TO WORK.
EARN that paycheck.

Oh, wait, that's probably never been something that's required of him before. Showing up and making speeches and giving pep talks really doesn't prepare one for the Presidency of the greatest super power in the world, now does it? He's "learning as he goes" which is what we knew all along would happen.

Remembering 9-11

Today on the solemn anniversary of 9-11-01, I will post what I wrote in our 2001 family photo album/journal of my memories of that terrible day. I know all of us will always remember where we were, what we were doing, and how we found out about this attack on our nation.

"There is no way to adequately describe the emotion felt by all of us on this day in our lives but I will try. I will begin with the fact that this day started as the picture-perfect September day: quiet blue skies: the crisp and bright blue of early fall. It was a normal day until my daughter Jamie yelled to me from the family room. When she yelled "MOM! COME HERE!" it was the tone of her voice that told me to hurry, something terrible had happened, and at the time, I thought it might have been to our little (then) five year old boy. When I got to the family room where she was, I could see she had the television on "Good Morning America" and it was showing a New York City skyscraper, live, on fire. The host was repeating the news that a jet had JUST crashed into the World Trade Center.

All of the kids were home that morning, the older two getting ready for work or college, the younger one was homeschooled and we would soon start our lessons. We could not take our eyes off the television, we were all watching. I ran to the phone and called several people to alert them to turn on their televisions. I will never forget hearing the sound in their voice as they watched what was unfolding. My mom was glad I called her because she had company and they hadn't turned on any news yet that day.

As we continued to watch the events unfold, we were shocked to watch what at first we thought was a replay of the first plane smashing into the Twin Towers--BUT NO!--it was ANOTHER plane crashing into another! We watched as another jet banked sharply and aimed straight for the building resulting in a huge fireball. Now there was NO shadow of a doubt that we were being attacked and that this was an intentional act. The fear started to set in, with its coldness spreading from my heart outward. The live coverage was thorough, but very confusing with the conflicting accounts and the inability for the anchors to piece the events together because everything was happening so fast.

At home, we were not sure if what we were watching was another replay or another attack. In the course of their coverage, ABC linked up by phone to a live reporter from the Pentagon, who was giving updates from there on what was going on in NYC. Even he had to repeat several times over (and over) --the news that the PENTAGON had now been attacked --for it to sink in with the anchor and the audience.

So, we knew now that the Pentagon was on fire and burning as well as both the towers. To me it seemed that our nation was already at war when you saw the mighty military headquarters of the United States burning on your television screen. I became very fearful for our President and his family, as it was clear that the targets were high-visibility targets and that what they were aiming for was symbolic.

While all this was going on, it was plain to see on the television that both of the Twin Towers at the World Trade Center were leaning over very much to one side. We exclaimed that they looked like they were going to fall...surely not! And right before our very eyes, they did, fire and all. It was astonishing and shocking to see people throw themselves out of those monumental buildings, that many stories up in the air, to escape the inferno. That and the sight of those huge buildings crumbling to dust and falling, all the people running away, was almost more than you could stand to watch. The helpless feeling and the fear made your blood run cold.

The kids were scheduled to be to work or to college, so I told them to go ahead and go, but to keep in touch with their cell phones. I hugged them and told them I loved them and told them to be careful, because at this point, I had no idea what else was going to happen, and wanted to watch the sky near me to see if planes were falling out of the skies over the whole country! (We soon learned that one did come down over a cornfield in Pennsylvania, so it wasn't something that was wild to think about, it could happen and I thought it might!)

In fact, after 9-11, it was hard--when the planes were allowed back into the skies---to not watch a jet, I was sure it would happen again. Eventually, all flights over the United States were canceled and the silence of the skies was eerie although a couple of times that day, I did hear military aircraft flying way overhead, sometimes out of sight. When I did hear an aircraft, I made sure to look up to watch its path. All day long, I was never without a television, a radio, or a phone.

Luke and I met his friend R.J. and his mom Luanne at a nearby park for playday, we had a standing date and decided not to break it. We watched as our kids played, kept our eyes on the skies, and talked about our fears and shed a few tears together about this and what it might mean. After we were done, I filled up the car, and went to the bank and withdrew a good amount of cash because I wasn't sure what was going to happen and wanted some money on hand. (By the end of the day, some stations were charging as much as $5 per gallon for gas which was unbelievable to us at the time.)

I went to the store and stocked up on extra basic supplies in case trucking and trains were shut down. That night, prayer services were held all over the country and I attended one locally in our little town. Gathered in the Catholic church that day were people of ALL faiths, silent, solemn, and very grim. Some were shaken and tearful.

Our nation had been stopped in her tracks and the people instinctively knew WHO they should cry out to for help: Our God. I sat on the back row and held hands with someone I had never met before as the priest began his prayer. During that prayer, among other things, he spoke of forgiveness of those who had done this to us, and I must admit, in my heart and silently in my mind, I screamed "NO, NEVER!"

I still have that feeling that I never want to forgive those terrorists, I'm not sure I'm the one who CAN forgive the horrible wretches who, in the name of Allah, did this to us.

I do know that I will never forget that horrible day and the coldness in my heart that took a long time to go away.

I remember watching television coverage, and for hours and hours and hours. If I could not watch television, I would listen to the radio. I did not want to be left out of knowing what was developing and was so proud of our country and those who were working at the site in New York City. I watched what funerals that I could and remember honoring, donating, and helping out. Christmas that year was all red, white and blue!

I have collected books and magazines that resulted from that day and hope that someday they will be treasured by our kids.

With baited breath those in the mainstream media are awaited word from on high about "health care". All summer long, they tried their best to ignore the voice of the "people". The people put the squash on their Dear Leader's approval numbers, and that came as a shock to the truly worshipful.

They are eager to make sure Barack stages a "comeback"; after all he is very unpopular and the polls are worrisome to them. They helped put him in office, so they must boost him when he requires it, because bungle is what he does best, to their chagrin.

The TOWN HALL movement got too big for them to ignore, so that presents a real problem for Obama. And for the mainstream media.

(Remember how they'd fawn and purr over Bill Clinton once he muddled things up and then talk about what a great liar he was but that he always bounced back and was the "comeback kid"? They could hardly hide their glee when he "snowed us" again.)

Congress is back in session, (much to our detriment) and they were in their seats, all set to receive their marching orders. After last night's speech, it's clear that Obama is telling the lawmakers:

"YOU DIDN'T HEAR THEM. YOU ONLY NEED TO LISTEN TO ME. OBEY ME."

Reality isn't something Obama deals with too well. His anger was evident: his finger was up pointing too often to believe that he's really feeling like he's on top of his game. The lawmakers, the ones who have, all summer long, heard from the people at overcrowded and emotional town hall meetings, the same lawmakers who have had the mail from the people, angry about another government overreach, delivered to them in bulk, by multiple crates -- daily, cheered him like a god and thumbed their noses at the very people who loaned to them the power of their vote in Washington, D.C.

The struggle is not over and we must redouble our efforts, take the gloves off, and fight on. You saw demonstrated last night that the PEOPLE DO NOT MATTER. You and I were not mentioned in this speech, the Dear Leader never saw fit to say that he "heard you" loud and clear: instead you were ignored.

One Congressman saw fit to speak for the people when he yelled out "YOU LIE!" in the chamber, and it was the best moment of the whole thing. Now today, the newsheads are speaking about the "improper decorum" of his reaction, and the Congressman has had to "issue an apology".

I for one, am sorry to see him do so, because he was speaking for us last night, when we could not speak. Very telling was the clear anger on the face of our Dear Leader at one who would DARE speak that way to him. (Nancy Pelosi's plastic face registered more emotion at that than she did at anything else in all the years I've seen her face plastered on television!)

I am glad that Congressman could not keep his reaction to the whole speech full of lies that he was hearing, and I regret that he apologized.

I will not apologize for calling Dear Leader a liar. He is a liar and he proved it multiple times last night.

We who oppose this deadly, virus-laden "health care" package will have to be larger in number, and we will have to be LOUDER.

HOW FITTING, then, that our brave "tea party" and "town hall" patriots will be in Washington, D.C. this Saturday on 9-12 to demonstrate to the President and to Congress that WE WILL NOT BE IGNORED.

If you cannot be in D.C., then I would recommend your prayers for those brave ones that go and speak up for us, they will need the safety God provides; I truly believe the fight is just beginning.

Mine was this: he is going to have national health care that is "revenue neutral" from "savings" gained from "fraud and abuse" in government!!!!!! That's like saying "I'm going to buy a McMansion with all the money I find in the couch!"

You will be astounded at the arrogance and the berating language that he used in his so-called "Town Hall ", shown here, (just click). The man is vile, rude, arrogant, and disgusting and is proof that if there were ever a case for term limits, this man is EXHIBIT ONE.

Okay, so say the woman asking the question is holding a "defaced picture of our President"....is this a professional way to act toward someone that is a constituent? (Of course, we should remember that we have no proof she was holding such a picture, he could have been making that up, and she could be a plant by the supporters of the single-payer health care, there to make those of us who oppose this socialistic program look bad!).

This man wanted face-time on television to berate individuals who came with valid concerns and questions...and he's shown the whole world his ASSinine attitude, his double-speak personality, confusing those who asked perfectly valid questions.

Watch his reaction to the question one smart man asked regarding Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Can you see the disconnect between the constituent and their "so-called representative"? How dare this mere serf question the "ruling class"? It's beneath the ruling class sense of dignity to be bothered with such lowly scum!

When Barney was asked "How can we trust you with our health care?" His answer? I never asked you to trust me, I would never ask you to trust me. WHAT? I guess that the constituent assumes (wrongly, as proven in "anything-but-Frank" !) that when a man is elected to any public office, especially a high office in Congress, when he places his hand on the Bible and takes the oath to serve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, that person indeed assumes the PUBLIC TRUST.

God Help Us All with men like this in a leadership position! Shame on the voters who continue to return this man to office.

ONE GOOD THING: Those who oppose this "OBAMA CARE" in these town halls have got the democrats and the Obama administration running in CIRCLES, chasing their tales (no, I didn't misspell that, they truly are telling TALES!) , telling lie after lie, pulling one lie back and throwing another one that's even more incredulous, out. It's something to watch, these flips worthy of a gymnast in the Olympics, signaling an implosion of this administration.

It's also quite amusing to watch Obama pull Bill Clinton out of the mothballs to shore up support with the public. Tsk, tsk...wonder what old Ted Kennedy thinks of that! Even more entertaining to see is Hillary's reaction to it!

SERIOUSLY THOUGH...we cannot stop in our demonstrated opposition to this OBAMA CARE. WHY? Because, once it's instituted, it WILL NOT BE ABLE TO BE PULLED BACK IN. Remember Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid?

OTHER TIDBITS:
It turns out that the winners in your government's brilliant way to spend 3 billion in the "CASH FOR CLUNKERS" were Honda and Toyota! GM and Chrysler didn't even make the top ten! And, with the "green goal" of said program being cars with BETTER gas mileage, your dollars bought more trucks and SUV's than anything else!

So aren't you glad you could help out the owners of foreign companies with billions of your tax dollars in a hugely bungled giveaway program! Chaos reigns in this program, with dealers who participated still holding the bag and not yet reimbursed for the government for their credit to each of the "clunker" participants! Your government, meanwhile, is still bent on selling you the line of bull that THEY can do health care better!

Oh, and Dick Durbin deems that he isn't going to have "Town Hall" meeting for his constituents "serves no purpose"....oh, really? So face time with those who put you into office serves NO PURPOSE? More arrogance and ignorance on display. The word haughty comes to mind.

Buffet is trying to warn us all: our debt poses a huge risk...and we are to blindly take on MORE DEBT?

OH....and the BIGGIE? We are told today that Social Security will be broke within TWO YEARS not the eight or ten they've been saying! Remember when Bush tried to get Congress to buckle down and face the monster of social security and he was practically run out of Washington on a rail? Maybe he was right and the ding dongs in Congress ought to shut up about OBAMA CARE and get busy on Social Security!!!

My Letter to Representatives in Congress

I'm not going to lie to you, writing this letter TOOK TIME. It was at least three hours from start to finish, and I STILL have to go to the post office and am going to pay to send it registered and require a signature showing that they received it. I doubt if I will get a reply, if nothing more than a form letter I'd be surprised. My senators and representatives RARELY vote outside the party line.

I encourage ALL OF YOU to fight this and know that the sacrifice of a couple of hours is NOTHING compared to what we will lose if this Obama Care goes through and you lose your freedoms. TYRANNY must be fought.

Find your representative's address here, and I've heard that emails and phone calls no longer matter. It must be a hard letter delivered through the mail. Let's hope it helps.

I am saddened to see the country going through this upheaval, (currently revolving around Government Health Care or Obama Care) but I am not surprised. For some time now, Washington has seen more than its share of politicians, yet too few STATESMEN.

The very freedom described in the Constitution is being COMPLETELY IGNORED by the majority of Congress and our President and Congressional leaders and it is alarming and shocking to see the level to which they'll take their misguided and socialistic policies and use it to browbeat the protestations of those who would dare raise their voices against Washington! AND THAT'S WHY YOU SEE SUCH ALARM: you've crossed the line that has awakened those who normally are too busy working, raising their families and taking care of their homes to regularly participate in public policy and politics. You are seeing the results of your overstepping the bounds set out for you in the responsibilities given you by the people through the CONSTITUTION.

You (Congress) has failed in your responsibility to listen to the people in TARP, the federal budget expanding by so much, the bailout of the auto companies, the government takeover/bailout of the insurance and the banking companies and NONE OF THE PREDICTIONS OF YOUR GOVERNMENTAL INTERFERENCE (USING OUR MONEY, earned and unearned for generations yet to be!) Let me tell you something about this America that I grew up in: If you work HARD ENOUGH at anything, you can make it.

My husband and I are the story of MANY average Americans, who are proud of what we've been able to accomplish WITHOUT THE GOVERNMENT'S HELP in that:

Neither of us have had the privilege to be college educated; our fathers were working class men who made too much for scholarship loans/help, too little to afford college for all the kids.

Neither of us have NOT WORKED, unless voluntarily, all of our lives.

Neither of us have participated in any government program.

Neither of us have had anything more than a traffic ticket.

Both of us have watched our pennies, learned to take pride in being frugal.

WE OWE NO ONE.

Both of us have raised our own children,with none of them having anything more than a traffic ticket.

Both of us have bought (and completely paid for!) our own home, with no help from the government.

Both of us have raised our own gardens, and harvested it and preserved it to feed our family; all with no help from the government.

Both of us have watched as our government takes A HUGE PERCENTAGE of his hard-earned money (I quit working a while ago to stay home with our kids and watch the money and we've made it just fine!) to place a great percentage of it into the Social Security program, and MOST of that we'll never see because it won't be there for him to use when he needs it in ten years! It makes us FURIOUS. But if we could opt out of that? We could have bought a nice insurance for our twilight years and be JUST FINE and not have to worry.

Both of us have watched his contributions to the 401K program (the only retirement offered by his employer!) dwindle down to horrific levels in the past six months in fact, they are levels of twenty years ago.

WE KNOW that the reason for most of the "crises" in this country are DUE to the government's actions and control.

We DO NOT NEED GOVERNMENTAL INTERFERENCE IN OUR LIVES!

Greedy politicians. Dumb politicians. Self-serving politicians. SHORTSIGHTED politicians: they'll do anything, to GIVE AWAY MY MONEY TO GET ANOTHER VOTE. They are all there, in D.C. They are squandering a rich history, a rich legacy, dumbing down the masses of one of the most innovative, inventive countries in the history of the world.

CASH FOR CLUNKERS: A BILLION DOLLAR FAILURE: yet compared to the OBAMACARE it's a fairly simple, straightforward plan. (Click HERE to read more about this debacle!)

THEY OWN THE AUTO COMPANIES NOW, SO THEY MUST SPEND BILLIONS OF YOUR MONEY TO PAY YOU TO BUY THEIR PRODUCT...!!!! (thereby gaining an unfair marketing advantage over Ford, who refused to go along).

(This is not the first failure of the Obama administration, almost everything he touches, promises and estimates the cost for and then gets Congress to spend the money for these "fixes"...... doesn't WORK!)

A couple weeks ago, I called our (one remaining!) local dealership about this program and how it would work. I was curious, because knowing how this government works, I was trying to get a feel for if it was put together in a smart and innovative way or not.

Not that I was interested in a new vehicle. We owe no one any money and do not want a car payment. My everyday car is a big fat 2005 Buick LeSabre sedan that gets EXCELLENT MILEAGE and isn't an EGG ON WHEELS....and for vacations and road trips we like our big fat 1999 Suburban and I don't want to spend 40k for a new one, thank you very much.

They told me the vehicle traded in must get under a certain mpg. (My Suburban met the requirement.) No age limit on the vehicle.....just must be traded in on a better mileage vehicle...and your amount from Uncle Sam depended upon your mileage savings and your amount could be up to $4,500.

I THEN ASKED what they do with my old vehicle (which as you can see is a very nice Suburban with 160k miles, which is good for at least 160K more! It's well-maintained and well-taken care of!) and the dealer told me that MY VEHICLE WOULD BE CRUSHED!!! WHAT???

Couldn't someone else use this vehicle to pull a camper or haul workers to the job site? The government would not allow the resale of this perfectly fine vehicle. Is that not a waste of natural resources? It just goes to THE CRUSHER??? I know the tires, wheels and leather seats are valuable, and lots more parts, too. My daughter works in that industry, and these parts are high dollar parts.

More people than ever now are making do and making their vehicles last longer INSTEAD OF BUYING NEW. Not everyone can buy new vehicles.

They FIX THEM.

SO....IN FOUR DAYS....CASH FOR CLUNKERS IS BROKE. This is a program that was supposed to last until NOVEMBER. Those are your policitians at work: lying to you again! The same politicians who tell you there will be "savings" in the new Obamacare. That it will only cost "X" amount of dollars. SURE. We believe THAT!

THE SAME EXPERTS are working on the numbers for HEALTHCARE that worked on the CLUNKER PROGRAM! I just can't wait to see the cars they design to sell!

UPDATED TO ADD: In a rush to pass "something" before they hightail it out of town for their summer "recess"....they just spent TWO BILLION more (that we don't have!) to bolster sales in this program. Unbelievable!

WHAT'S NEXT with OBAMACARE? CASH FOR GRANNY? Take her to "hospice" and they can off her and pay you cash for turning her in and saving the government hundreds of thousands for her care? This might be a laughing matter if it weren't in the realm of possibility in AMERICA!

I am hoping you also will bear with me, because I may tend to get a little sarcastic and snarky with HIZZONER. I just won't able to be able to help myself. I hope my SARCASM isn't too SUBTLE, I wouldn't want him to miss ANY of the meaning behind my WORDS. I'd better be careful, though, I don't want to send him home drunk or anything. He does have a country to run, after all (doesn't he?).

We got it all the hard way...and we actually got a mortgage on our own and had to QUALIFY FOR IT, and then we proceeded to PAY FOR IT.

Yes, we're some of the dumb people who actually PAY OFF their mortgages and don't have EQUITY loans to furnish our yard and our barn out there with TOYS of all sorts. We paid off our home early so we could save more for retirement because we sincerely believe that the HUGE AMOUNT of WITHHOLDING that your GOVERNMENT takes from hubby's check will never be available to US to draw from because the government makes our dollars available to illegals and all kinds of no-goods and when he's ready, the fund will be BROKE, BANKRUPT! Nice, huh! Forty years of contributions and NO MONEY! That's not good, Obama, not GOOD AT ALL.

(So that's why we laugh at your HEALTH CARE PLAN. IT WILL NEVER WORK, OBAMA!)

It fries hubby's fanny every single time he gets his check and sees what the GOVERNMENT TAKES. That's why we don't want ANY NEW TAXES and we think we should be able to OPT OUT of social security and take OUR MONEY with us. See what you can do about that, okay? I see you're taking notes. I'm glad. Because I've figured out a lot of things out there on the lawn mower. Do you ever mow the lawn? You might want to try it. You can do a lot of thinking while you're lining up your rows. You should enjoy getting dirty every now and then, pres.

Oh, yes, we have worked very hard on this place, I'm glad you like it. You see we live out a ways. URBAN FORMS OF TRANSPORTATION WILL NOT WORK FOR US. You don't see a subway or a bus line running out here, do you? That's why your GREEN talk and CAP AND TAX makes us laugh.

And you can see we like our TRUCKS. We will never be buying a Government Motors AVEO. We like our vehicles BIG because we DO ALL OUR OWN WORK. And ELECTRIC CARS will never work for us. For one, we need POWER, and for another, we want our vehicles big because we do a lot of interstate travel, and we don't have a plane or helicopter to use and we don't like spending twelve hours travel on the interstate inside of an EGG ON WHEELS (with no carton to protect us).

You should have seen it when we bought this place. AND WE DID IT ALL WITHOUT GOVERNMENT HELP. It was a mess but all we've done is work, work work....and look what happened, all that work paid off and we wound up with something nice and WE take care of it because WE know what it took to get it this way.

There's a lesson in that, Obama. You might want to learn.

Well, it's paid off and now we can't sell it when we want to retire because MICHIGAN is in the TOILET and it's about to be FLUSHED. Yes, Granholm, the one you called as an "economic advisor" has ruined our state. And you're taking us down that same road. Talk to some other Michiganders who haven't run away to another state and see what they think of her "economic policies" and talk to the small businessman and see what he thinks of all the new tax burden she's put on us!

Oh, and may I ask you, Obama, have you ever worked so hard PHYSICALLY (on anything other than a treadmill or workout machine) where you've been so darned tired that you fell into bed after your shower and never woke once until the next morning? I think it would do you GOOD. Try it some time. And then, have almost half the money you earned while you did that physical work TAKEN FROM YOU by your government. You might know why those of our OUT HERE get angry when you talk about new taxes or higher taxes. NO NEW TAXES, OBAMA! DIDJA HEAR ME? No. New. Taxes.

WHY ARE YOU LEAVING?! YOU JUST GOT HERE! They're speeding away. My goodness. I had so looked forward to rockin' and talkin' for hours. I would even have let him ASK ME QUESTIONS that hadn't been screened!

You will have the option to stick with your private insurance company.

You will be able, with "Government" health care, to choose your own doctor.

Decisions and rationing by the government are not possible with "Government" health care.

Excuse me while I go bang my head against the wall.
All of the above statements are LIES.

The same government that told you the auto company bailouts would prevent them from filing for bankruptcy. It did not prevent that happening, and it resulted in the GOVERNMENT OWNING those companies because THEY LIED TO YOU.

The same government which promised the so-called "stimulus" package that was told to be capable of solving both the foreclosure and unemployment crisis. THEY LIED TO YOU. That promise was followed by about a half a million jobs lost PER MONTH since it passed. Foreclosures are going up. And the SECOND WAVE of these so called "affordable mortgages" brought to you by your brilliant government hasn't even hit yet. And yet they're talking again about yet ANOTHER "stimulus package".

The same government that has played fast and loose with your social security dollars (with no "opt out" option) is trying to convince you that it will not break or bankrupt our country like government health care has done in Massachusetts. (Massachusetts's plan is fairly new, and they're ALREADY RATIONING!)

The same government that has brought you the IRS wants to form a newer, larger government entity that will have all of your family's private medical information on laptops, ready for someone to steal from a "government issued" car.

If you value your life and that of your family and friends (and especially your elderly relatives!) you need to GET ON THE PHONE and call your representatives and tell that what you think of this "GOVERNMENT HEALTH CARE" lie that they're trying to sell to you and to Congress.

So That Others May Live...

This was written by a young man serving his third tour of duty in Iraq, I got it from email from my cousin, whose son is serving his country in the middle east right now. This letter is not written by his son, but it could have been. It could have been written by many sons who are away from home, watching the coverage (still ongoing!) and wondering where our priorities are.

Thought you might find his take on the Michael Jackson news interesting. He said it better than I ever could!

"Okay, I need to rant.

I was just watching the news, and I caught part of a report on Michael
Jackson. As we all know, Jackson died the other day. He was an
entertainer who performed for decades. He made millions, he spent
millions, and he did a lot of things that make him a villain to many
people. I understand that his death would affect a lot of people, and
I respect those people who mourn his death, but that isn't the point
of my rant.

Why is it that when ONE man dies, the whole of America loses their
minds with grief. When a man dies whose only contribution to the
country was to ENTERTAIN people, the American people find the need to
flock to a memorial in Hollywood, and even Congress sees the need to
hold a "moment of silence" for his passing?

Am I missing something here? ONE man dies, and all of a sudden he's a
freaking martyr because he entertained us for a few decades? What
about all those SOLDIERS who have died to give us freedom? All those
Soldiers who, knowing that they would be asked to fight in a war,
still raised their hands and swore to defend the Constitution and the
United States of America. Where is their moment of silence? Where
are the people flocking to their graves or memorials and mourning over
them because they made the ultimate sacrifice? Why is it when a
Soldier dies, there are more people saying "good riddance," and "thank
God for IEDs?" When did this country become so calloused to the
sacrifice of GOOD MEN and WOMEN, that they can arbitrarily blow off
their deaths, and instead, throw themselves into mourning for a "Pop
Icon?"

I think that if they are going to hold a moment of silence IN CONGRESS
for Michael Jackson, they need to hold a moment of silence for every
service member killed in Iraq and Afghanistan. They need to PUBLICLY
recognize every life that has been lost so that the American people
can live their callous little lives in the luxury and freedom that WE,
those that are living and those that have gone on, have provided for
them. But, wait, that would take too much time, because there have
been so many willing to make that sacrifice. After all, we will never
make millions of dollars. We will never star in movies, or write hit
songs that the world will listen to. We only shed our blood, sweat
and tears so that people can enjoy what they have. FREEDOM.
Sorry if I have offended, but I needed to say it.

Remember these five words the next time you think of someone who is serving in the military:

This sign was my idea....they come to me every now and then. I know Obama wants us all to depend on HIM...but at some point, that will become impossible. There are 300 million of us, and I know the government cannot take care of everybody! Seems like there were some revolutionaries long ago who knew this and because of them, an independent nation was born.

I liked this kid's idea for a sign...and his hat, too!

I don't know if you've felt this way or not, but there is SO MUCH on EVERY FRONT changing IN A BIG WAY, that it seems to me that Washington D.C. is purposefully cooperating in the creation of a chaotic situation and in his rush to "REMAKE AMERICA", Obama is shoving so much at us all at one time, there is NO WAY to absorb it all.

I sometimes feel like I'm the main character in "THE TRUMAN SHOW" and I ask myself, "What is going on?" IS this a dream, or is it REALITY?

I am trapped in a country that is changing at a rate that is over the top in its speed, and all the while, the Constitution, which EVERY PERSON within government took an oath to uphold, is stomped on and shredded, and all of us freedom-loving Americans can only watch helplessly as those who swore their allegiance to it, laugh at us with an evil sneer while they enjoy our frozen looks, and revel in our feelings of shock and grief. They try to manipulate us with their words, hoping they can avert our eyes to their ACTIONS, while they say one thing, and yet do ANOTHER.

I shake my head, trying to wake up, but I AM AWAKE. This is real. My country is being destroyed by a wolf in sheep's clothing along with his Marxist minions. My government lies to me and tells me everything that goes against what we ever learned about government, all that the founding fathers worked out with blood, sweat and tears and formed into our sacred founding documents:

When we're going broke, that means we need to spend more.

We need to be socialistic to save capitalism.

Socialistic states go bankrupt because of mismanaging their resources and the federal government stands ready to bail them out rather than let them live with their poor decisions.

We need to "stimulate the economy" but handicap the nation with a giant debt that can never be repaid all the while unemployment skyrockets which the "stimulus" was created, supposedly, to solve.

When GM and Chrysler are going to go bankrupt from poor management, huge legacy costs and out-of-control unions, we just hand them billions, then months later when they have no choice (because of the government!) but to go bankrupt, step in and give them billions more and take over with plans to hand off a controlling share of the company to the unions who caused most of the problem in the first place.
Pay foreign governments in the Caribbean hundreds of millions to take our enemies in and make them feel at home instead of detaining them at Guantanamo. After all, they've signed a paper saying they've "reformed".

When the banks are near collapse from mismanagement, why don't we (taxpayers) give them more money and then not oversee where it goes and who gets it?

The mortgage mess is the fault of Congress and they ignore that fact, give Freddie & Fannie billions, without reforming them or holding the members of Congress responsible for the "oversight" for IGNORING the fraud and corruption; or holding them responsible for their part in the financial mess that ruined our country.

When the money runs out, we print more; don't worry about inflation, it cannot happen, after all Obama is President.

When that runs out, we beg our enemies for it.

We need more energy, so let's not drill for our own oil.

Nuclear is the cleanest, cheapest, most efficient form of energy, so let's not do that, Al Gore and his fraudulent "scientific" friends wouldn't like it.

Illegal immigrants are breaking the law and are bankrupting many states, so let's give them amnesty, social security benefits and free health care.

Health care is a RIGHT that you're entitled to.

The government can do health care BETTER and CHEAPER and all without rationing.

The federal government is all-powerful, state governments mean nothing.

The government does not need to investigate the Speaker of the House for her unfounded accusations that the CIA LIED to her, however, it is necessary to spend their time and money investigating BASEBALL and who might have lied to them about STEROIDS.

Congress saw fit to investigate John McCain's citizenship eligibility before the election, however Obama has never been asked by Congress to produce his long-form birth certificate with a seal, and laugh about those of us concerned that a non-citizen is ruining our country.

Our media has sold itself to the administration as a panting lapdog and refuses to investigate anything in depth and takes the President at his word for anything he feeds to them, because they love him so much and feel that they set him up for the win. They breathlessly report on Michele's new sleeveless dress and her beautiful arms, the president's choice of CUSTARD, while they ignore the hard news we need to know because of the sweeping changes it will make in our lives and that of those that come after us who will be required to pay for this man's UTOPIA.

It takes Obama multiple days to decide what to do about pirates and shooting them in the head is good, but terrorists who were apprehended by our soldiers in gravely dangerous situations, the same Islamic terrorists that hate us and our country are free to roam the streets of America, living off the taxpayer dime; OR, perhaps you're one of the lucky ones rewarded with a civil trial (each at a cost of MULTIPLE MILLIONS!) or perhaps if you're less of a terrorist (!!) you're rewarded for your JIHAD against America by new residence on a tropical PARADISE, paid for by YOU, the hardworking American who would rather see them dead, or held for life of hard labor in a military prison.

The same Iranian regime that denies basic human rights to it citizens, that Obama says he would like to "negotiate with"; that says the holocaust did not happen, who wishes to wipe Israel off the face of the earth and makes no secret about it, is killing their own people in the streets over a rigged election by the mullahs and it takes a week for Obama to make a timid, tepid, limp expression to them about freedom; showing he's even wimpier than CONGRESS. I don't know if you've seen the reports or not but ABC NEWS is next week is TURNING OVER THEIR NETWORK to the WHITE HOUSE to promote their so-called HEALTH CARE AGENDA: FOR A WHOLE WEEK. Welcome to the United Socialist States of America.

In other words, there will be a week of "infomercials" from YOUR White House promoting their socialist health insurance programme WITH NO OPPOSING VIEWPOINTS. (We've known since January that opposing opinions are OFF THE TABLE haven't we?) What this really is, is an attempt on behalf of the largest corporations (Like Banking, Insurance, Mortgage and Industries like General Motors, et. al.) to offload their health care costs ONTO THE TAXPAYERS because it is not possible for the company to remain viable with their legacy costs: the largest of which is health care. This way, the unions do not have to give up anything, Obama is their hero and at the same time he can buy the votes of many subgroups of voters at the same time: the illegal immigrant class, the class that prefers to stay home and make babies instead of work, and many other shiftless no-good-for-nothings who think the government was created expressly for their support and lively hoods!

There will be no one to play "devil's advocate" to ask what in the blazes a "HEALTH CARE CRISIS" actually IS...or how a GOVERNMENT THAT IS COMPLETELY BANKRUPT plans pay for something equal to 17% or MULTIPLE TRILLIONS of dollars in our NATIONAL ECONOMY. (They're going to try to 'sell' it to you as a COST SAVING measure, which you all know to be something very funny coming from a government that is now famous for having bought toilet seats and hammers at highly inflated prices! Have you ever known our government to become involved in ANYTHING with the result of cost savings or efficiency?!)

After all, we've heard the Democrats talk about this so-called "heath care crisis" for years and from Hillary on down, but the hospitals and health care keep rolling along, advances are being made, and people are being treated, living longer than ever and yes, people with AND without insurance have access to the SAME HEALTH CARE SYSTEM.

I usually don't take a foray into the world of "celebrity" politics, but I'm rather fed up with the left's unusual hatred and vitriol toward this woman (I think we all know why: they feel threatened by her) and I feel like it's time that we fought back, we're way too nice sometimes.

I sat down and sent an email yesterday to CBS (email address below) about Dave's by now famous "jokes" about Sarah Palin and her daughter. There are real reasons to be angry and the main one is that her daughter: the butt of the joke about statutory rape is only 14! The people involved in this issue are REAL and the daughter of Mrs. Palin is old enough to know what's going on. If Mr. Letterman sees fit to take a "hands-off" approach to the President's children, why should it be any different for Mrs. Palin's children?

So today, I'm posting my letter to CBS and hopefully it will make a difference. You just get tired sometimes of taking it on the chin and turning the other cheek. At some point, you have to quit being so nice and take a swipe back.

Whether one is a fan of Palin or not; Letterman's by now infamous "Top Ten" list went way, way, way too far. I have never seen him go after a liberal in this manner. I have never seen him take even a halfway decent jab at Obama, and there's plenty of material there ("We are the largest Muslim nation in the world"), and I KNOW he would NEVER go after the Obama girls in the way he seems to think is funny and appropriate to go after Mrs. Palin and her family. He's a nasty old man to make the kind of 'jokes' he made about her young daughter and further, it's an insult to the ballplayer he targeted, too. Maybe in the near future someone will make a crack about a homosexual pedophile raping Dave's adorable, (and I'm sure a much-loved) young son....then maybe he'll have an idea of what this feels like. Some areas should be OFF LIMIT to the writers of what you people seem to want to call "comedy". I call it sick.

And to use the adjectives that he did to describe Palin in his top ten list could not show his bias more. There is nothing slutty about the woman or her appearance. She's a lady, and a sharp, pretty lady with class, at that. Just because she's pro-life and pro-gun, all Dave's teeth are showing, and I believe it's because of the liberal left's fear of this woman and her popularity that he took aim at her in this pathetic leap into what he calls "comedy" or a "joke".

CBS needs to reign this act in and issue a public apology to the Palin family. Save what little credibility your network has left: the same network that gave credence to false "documentation" about Bush's National Guard service is the same network that refuses to investigate the issue of Obama's eligibility to serve.

I'm so overwhelmed I can hardly get my mind on one thing issue enough to think that thing through to a conclusion. I am getting daily emails about damaging legislation and precedent, proposed socialist law, hearing it on the radio, watching it every night on television as the fabric of our nation is ripped. And, it's not done gently or as one might remove a long-stuck bandage slowly as to not rip off the skin it adhered to. This rip is loud, it is violent and it hurts. I am watching as the country that I love, the country that I learned about in school, the country that generations of proud Americans have fought to defend: some of them to the death, is on the fast track to being totally DESTROYED by a government that is out of control, out of touch and making a mess that will take generations to clear up, if EVER. I weep when I hear our national anthem. Where are the brave? Are they still here in this land?

Our new administration is purposeful in its effort to overwhelm and create more chaos, and create an unprecedented amount of huge legislation creating deadlines for that legislation to overwhelm the system and not allow all the cases to be brought before the courts to decide their constitutionality.

You cannot convince me that even one quarter of what has taken place in the past five months has been well-thought out. When you have politicians voting on a bill with thousands upon thousands of pages, which they refuse to read, voting on something on the timeline of a WHITE HOUSE issued "decree" of a deadline, and they are risking your futures and all of your children's futures to cater to ONE MAN. (By the way, NONE of his ideas up to this point HAVE WORKED. No one seems willing to point this fact out to the slobbering pimp press: the same ones who feel they were the ones highly influential in getting this man: a god of their own, into office.)

I live in fear daily because what I am seeing happen each day is NOT the country that Thomas Jefferson or John Adams or George Washington would recognize. They would be called right-wing nut jobs by contemptuous, arrogant and haughty politicians these days. They would be ridiculed on late-night talk shows, put on "homeland security watch lists" and publicly scolded and threatened from the court jester the occupies the lectern in the White House Press Room.

I feel deep down in my soul like most Americans do, that something is terribly, terribly wrong, and that our forefathers would most certainly be horrified and ashamed at what we've let become of that precious gift they gave to us and at such a high cost. And how we've allowed ourselves to be steered into uncharted waters by the left violently hijacking the ship that is our country, one of our first loves: after the love we felt for our parents and siblings, we were taught love for God, and we were also taught love for our country, for our flag. We learned in school what that flag stood for, and we placed our hands over our hearts and said the pledge. And after we sat down, a prayer was said to start the day. God and country were intertwined. There was a certain sense of security in that. God never changes. And, as I write this, tears fall down my face as I realize that since I always knew God never changes, that for most all of my life, I was secure in knowing that neither would my country change. It would stand strong, and for the truth and always be right, and the constitution would ALWAYS WIN. It's sad to see the consititution treated with contempt by those who solemnly swore in their oath TO UPHOLD IT.

There are so many issues to write about, to call Congress about, that I cannot keep up with it. It's a full-time job to keep abreast of the issues. And, there are children, pets and gardens to take care of and a home to keep. If we are fortunate enough to have a job, we are furiously working because we're afraid it will be us and our job and our company next. Where are we supposed to fit a revolution in on the schedule? It doesn't matter whether we have time, or feel capable, we must fight this assault on our country's most sacred document: the Constitution. The rule of law must mean something or we are all DONE.

Didn't we elect those that are supposed to be representing them to do the job of PROTECTING OUR FREEDOM when they were sent to Washington, D.C. because WE CAN'T ALL GO?

I can't bury my head in the sand and ignore the news. I've tried. I am someone who feels it is my civic responsibility to know what's happening in our capitol. I have "skin in the game": I have children. I worry about their futures. I lay awake at night and wonder where the real men are that should be in Washington defending OUR INDIVIDUAL LIBERTIES and THE CONSTITUTION.

It's rare to hear someone in national political office stand up and say what all of us are thinking: The Constitution is being SHREDDED. We have CZARS in great numbers, who answer to no one but their commander. They are not representing the people. This goes against the core beliefs of those who hashed out our country's framework for years so long ago in Philadelphia: that self-governance only works when it's from the people UP, and not from the GOVERNMENT down.

Our country's foundations are being shattered by the idealism of a MARXIST. Those we pay such high salaries and exceptional benefits to fight for us in Washington are too afraid of his "high approval ratings" to make much noise in opposition. There are a few governors that are willing to fight the lonely fight against federal control of their state governments, and they are out there hanging in the wind being ridiculed by the White House and by the STATE RUN MEDIA.

Our representatives are letting us down, turning a deaf ear to our calls and our cries. And, they're so weak that they'd wait for a poll to tell them what the founding documents and many of the monuments and buildings the go into and out of every day have written all over them: THE PEOPLE ARE GRANTED FREEDOM BY GOD: GOVERNMENT IS ONLY THE GUARDIAN OF SOMETHING ENDOWED TO US BY OUR CREATOR. GOVERNMENT IS NOT THE ARBITER OR CREATOR OF FREEDOM OR ANYTHING LIKE IT.

Isn't what all those brave forefathers and their ragtag armies worked, fought, bled and took the risk and died for worth more than an APPROVAL RATING?

Prayer is what is needed because there is plenty of work to be done: God will hear our prayers. We, the American people, have been underestimated before. It isn't going to be easy to take our country back to its founding principles. We have to remain determined to be dedicated to our GODLY HERITAGE and be willing to fight for it and not wait for someone ELSE TO DO IT.

Good-Bye GM, It Was Nice to Know You.

I have never known life without General Motors. My dad gave 43 years of his life at that company. At one time, General Motors was NOT a cradle-to-grave situation for its employees, but it is proof for any who will choose to learn from it that nothing is truly free and that you cannot support someone for unproductive years (also known as retirement) that lasts as long or longer than they actually worked and produced goods.

GM employees worked hard (for the most part) and reaped the rewards. Most employees enjoyed VERY nice housing that would be considered luxury in most parts of the country back then, many of them and especially the execs and management were able to have built on the golf courses in posh subdivisions. If you chose the country life instead, you could afford a nice home and a big chunk of acreage. And a cabin "up north" and multiple vehicles, campers, snowmobiles, motorcycles, boats of all kinds, and goodies galore. If you could keep up with the payments, you'd be fine and ready to enjoy all your toys because of your generous helpings of time off throughout the year.

GM employees have enjoyed good times (due to the profitability of the company) and bad times (when cutbacks were necessary like the Jimmy Carter years) and have been vilified in Washington and the media when they were profitable ("Record-breaking profits by GM!"--like that was a bad thing! Wouldn't we love to be able to say that now?), and bad times like when they're hauled before Congress when they're down and out; mockumentary movies have been made by a shiftless former employee: a very disgruntled Michael Moore. Forget about the fact that "outsourcing" wasn't a word in any one's vocabulary until the NAFTA was signed by a union-backed President: William Jefferson Clinton.

Then the hard times began in earnest, because GM was smart enough to know profitability was no longer an option in the U.S. job market with the stranglehold that the UAW held over them.

The "good times" at General Motors included paid generous vacations, holidays, comp days, something called "personal paid holidays" and more, free legal services, dental, vision and health coverage with little to no deductibles, and a nice "entitlement-style" retirement/pension package with benefits that included no contribution whatsoever by the employee. On top of that there was something called a "jobs bank" that allowed personnel that should have been laid off permanently (but that was not allowed by the UAW!) to be on a generous 95% salary, with all benefits intact! All while doing "community service projects" occasionally, sometimes these employees would be on this dole for fifteen years at a stretch! Yes, non-productivity was rewarded, quite handsomely.

And on top of all those goodies were generous sick leaves (particularly enjoyed by an ex-brother-in-law with a mysterious seasonal back ache that only occurred during the warm months, who just happened to be on doctor and UAW-approved sick leave and just happened to belong to several baseball teams each summer.) all negotiated by a strong UAW and agreed to by the corporation to keep the lines rolling along and the auto dealerships full.

At some point, they were in over their heads.
But.
Did that mean that the UAW would give enough concessions that would allow a healthy company?
No.

We've been here and have watched it all.
And there you have it.

Now, we're on to GOVERNMENT MOTORS.
And, sadly, the government will hand UAW a controlling share when the bankruptcy is over with, the union that helped take it down to unknown depths.
That should be interesting.
Watching the UAW negotiate a contract with itself.
Will the UAW long for Roger Smith and those sunny days of record profitability and company growth and acquisition?
Will the UAW even worry about profitability?

BUT REMEMBER: The underlying problem has NOT been fixed.
It's still there. Legacy costs that are out of this world.

(And, aren't you so glad that your "bailout money" that was supposed to "save" GM for America has failed to do its job (politicians never admit they've failed!) and EVEN MORE of your money is going to this company, meanwhile, pieces and parts of GM are being SOLD TO FOREIGN COUNTRIES and Chrysler is being sold to an ITALIAN car maker. So much for saving AMERICAN jobs! We've been sold a bill of goods time after time by this administration and this Congress.)
The same union that backed employees who punched out at lunchtime, and never returned from the bar and had their friends clock them back in, will now be HANDED ownership of a formerly shareholder-owned corporation. Shareholders be damned.

My dad and mom were raised in the northern part of Michigan, and he was drafted right out of high school into the Korean conflict, yet was hired into GM before he left. When he got back from serving his time in the Army, he went right into "the shop", as it was called. I was the fifth child in the family, and by the time I was born, my dad had been in GM for ten years. So, I guess you could say that I was raised on a GM check. Sometimes it seemed life was a GM feast or famine. By that I mean that with GM it was all or nothing. When times were good, they were very good. But when times were bad, they were very bad. We always had to be "ready for disaster" which was a layoff.

As I grew up and matured enough to listen to and absorb the adult conversations in the house, I would hear stories my dad would tell of his time at work: those who would shirk their duties and let their fellow workers hang, would be paid on time and just as well as those who showed up each day and gave more than their fair share.

The fellow who dared to turn in to his GM supervisor a fellow worker sleeping in the locker room was punished in a hundred ways by the militant union co-workers, and there was nothing management could do, their hands were tied. If the management sent the employee home without pay, GM would have to spend too much time and money fighting with the union rep over their fellow shirkin' worker. Soon, the worker looking out for the company that signed his paycheck would learn it was fruitless to try to help plant management out and just walk on by those who were sleeping, or ignore the fact that the guy who was working on a machine next to him that morning never returned from his lunch in the bar on Industrial Avenue.

Let me just say this: I'm surprised GM lasted as long as it did. It was inevitable that they would run out of money at some point! But I am not hopeful that it will be a viable company again. And it truly is a shame. Because GM has done some fine work. And at auto shows all over this country, and particularly in this state, their body of fine work is ooh-ed and aah-ed over multiple times every single summer.

We will truly miss the company that was innovative, inventive, and ground-breaking. I will forever love GM and particularly Chevys and Buicks, and always remember the muscle car years, and hearing my older brothers "lay some rubber" with their big V-8 engines on those gorgeous muscle cars...

I want to remember the good part of GM and the way the freedom allowed in this country grew a crop of impressive and ground-breaking technology and how the car companies formed in this state changed the world, and I'll continue to carry pride for the heritage I have of growing up in the cradle of the automobile. It's sad to see an era end. And sadder still when you know nothing better is on the horizon. I will try to forget that the fine neighborhoods that sprung up around all those factories are now like a picture you see of a bombed-out war zone, and that the city where Buick once hummed along and kept everything else humming is now a ghetto-like ghost town with forty percent of the homes sitting vacant.

I will remember that nothing is free and that thinking it is eventually catches up with us, and that our politicians rarely tell us the truth.
